Little Runt (Page 32)

I've been looking forward to doing this page. I went back and forth on whether or not Nes should swear, but I decided to go with it (in a censored form), because I really wanted to make the emotion Nes is going through punch as hard as it could. His Dad dying once was traumatic enough. Now, from his perspective, he's just died a second time.

Sketch A, sketch B (revised for cold weather + much longer tail), inking, and flat colors! The flat colors for the character were done first before touching the background, because I was planning to be loose with it and wanted to use the character as a "visual anchor."

$10/$20 Tier Improvement

This coming week will be my one year anniversary on Patreon (March 28th)! I was thinking last night about what I could do to buff up the $10/$20 tiers, since I thought they deserved more than what I've been providing recently. PREVIEW: Robinsky15's Commission (The First Snow)

This will be out in a couple of days, but you guys can see it early. :3 I'm really proud of how the atmosphere turned out on this one!

Also, I did the BG in a sketch style, without inking it, to save time. It actually turned out pretty well! So I might lean in this direction for my next comic after Little Runt. It may not be as effective for brightly lit scenes however, and could get away with it more easily in a dimly lit environment like this.

So the world right now has turned topsy-turvy cause of the coronavirus that's going around. I know that a lot of businesses are closing temporarily, and unfortunately, not all workers are being compensated.

For this month (and probably almost every future month) I had my Tier V patrons suggest who/what would be the drawing for this month's Thank You image! I then had them vote on the suggestions I got. The top two votes went to "Any character drinking a hot beverage in a blanket burrito," suggested by Robin Liffner, and "Nick the Cheetah," suggested by Vincent Atrata. So, I combined both into one image! :D

For everyone who was wondering how Nestle's Dad died... here you go! Originally I had some other possibilities in mind, but after following Dogbomb1's journey last year, I thought making it ALS would help spread more awareness of this rare, currently incurable, disease.

Issues with liking comments?

I'm not sure if it's something only on my side, like a problem with my browser, or if it's a Patreon issue. Has anyone else had issue with liking comments and the like not staying there? I'll make a comment below to test it!

#1: The original sketch design! Asked for approval on this before proceeding with the expressions. Originally Bolt had glasses! They were later removed.

#2: Expressions added, and another one of the commissioner's characters (Colin) added to help show Bolt's small stature. It was originally off to the side, but later moved into the middle for composition reasons.

#3: We briefly tried out zigzag hair to go along with his name, Bolt, but we decided against it in the end. :)

As you can see, I made some dialogue changes to "spell things out" a little more. I also changed the seats from red to blue because of this page. The red fur of the characters just blended in way too much.
