Penumbra: Eclipse
I went through a few colour iterations of this one but I think the cell rendering turned out well.

I drew a horse and a cowboy, and then decided to try out a background using just the.... lasso.... tool. And a smudge brush.
Next day commentary edit: coming back to look at this I think I'm especially pleased that I didn't resort to any post-process colour tweaking to make it more harmonious or master glow layers to wash it out. The colours came straight as I picked 'em and that doesn't often end well for me!

Some doodles of Warcraft characters, the singing worgen and the pale horse belong to a friend!
Some of this was pulled from my private twitter because I liked the doodles too much to let em disappear into the digital ether.

Some tiefling art pieces that were part of art packs (main image, clothes-less base for outfit design, and a round token for digital ttrpg games) adopted through twitter auction this month. Beastling, Sweetling and Beefling.

A project I've been noodling on for a little bit, and I'm not sure if it'll turn into a setting for tabletop games or just a nice genre piece to work on.
Little Strigby is a countryside village on the very edge of a forest called the Werewood. Watched over by the great house Tyton Hall and it's resident Countess, this little estate sees visitors come and go, but only the brave or the foolish stray beyond the northern wall.
This map was mostly made with assets produced ...

A painterly commission of an Aasimar! I had the forethought to record the whole thing this time.

Not sure which capture software I like better, but CSP's built in timelapse is very nicely framed.

Some basic principles and tools for COMPOSITION, as I understand them. I didn't really know how to end this guide, so it just sort of... ends.
12 page PDF, written in English.

Happy May! Two years after getting an ipad and I have finally worked out how to screen-mirror onto my desktop for streaming.
This is an extremely unpolished video of a quick tiefling drawing!

A new little cyberpunk tabletop is starting and I decided to make a surly sandwich shop man.

I spent a lot of time yesterday soaking my brain in the illustration work of Sachin Teng, whose comic covers I adore amongst their very extensive portfolio. I decided to take a crack at an image inspired by their style.
Featuring one of my FFXIV characters, an elven paladin from the nation of Ishgard. The blue crystal towers are the turrets and spires of his home city.
As a piece I think it's successful and I'm pleased, but as a style study of Teng's work it's missed the mar...

It's not new art, but I wanted to gather together all the pictures I made for some sci-fi TTRPG games that my friend and I ran, built with the infinite creativity of our players as well. The two player/NPC groups can be seen in the crew photos.
There was a lot! I loved drawing for this setting.

I’ve been thinking a little again about a project that began to sprout last year, and how much I like some of the ideas attached to it. This week I wanted to do a proper bit of painting, so I mused on one concept- that magic is raw and untameable, as devastating and indomitable and mysterious as gravity.

A crop of Elder Scrolls fan art that I will add to over the month!

CSP’s recent timelapse feature is fun. A wip for some Elder Scrolls art!

Happy March!
I picked up Valheim shortly after it released on Steam and my little avatar has taken the form of an old OC. Its very relaxing. Here are some drawings and spit-paints.

How I think when I draw!
This was a strange guide to do! Articulating the way my brain works is fun. 10 page PDF for your download, written in English with accompanying artwork.
Next month's guide will be on Composition.

Theres a good meme in twitter right now where an artist posts their first sketch and the finished product. As this is a commission, I thought I’d better share it with patreon instead!
With more complex or angled compositions, I find there’s nothing better than starting out with a good ol’ mannequin and working from there.
The 3D tools in clip studio paint are especially accessible and can work wonders in setting proportions and perspective right before you even draw a ...

Happy February, everyone! The best month, but I have a little birthday bias there.
I’ve been browsing a lot of 2D artists galleries lately and they’re full of spit-paints- 30min colour sketches whose only job is to capture an idea or a mood. I gave it a try! I almost never work without l...

First big piece of the year! Linework, photobashing, 3 braincells allocated to composition, glow layers. Let's dig in!
I began the way I generally do with big pieces of illustration, by considering the atmosphere I wanted to portray. This moment in Elder Scrolls lore and a part of my OC's history is one of devastation and ruin. A volcano on his home island- famed setting of TES III: Morrowind- has erupted with catastrophic consequences for the native elves. After finding som...
2021-01-13 13:42:33 +0000 UTC View PostI'd love for you all to help me decide on a subject for my first art guide of 2021, and more specifically- where should the guide's starting point be? Should I create something specific to my process, or cover the more basic fundamentals of drawing?
I hope to cover all the subjects in the poll, but the result will determine which I tackle first.
2021-01-11 12:18:10 +0000 UTC View PostGood morning, patrons! Welcome, and thank you! I'm genuinely shocked that anyone signed up on day 1, but here you all are and I couldn't be happier! Let's get started.
I thought I'd make a fresh post of all the online resources that I use for my art. I'll update this list as I find more or links change, and curate as I go.
2020 really was the year of idea seeds- things that caught my attention for a few pieces of art and then fizzled out.
This was a project that I began to brainstorm with an old friend that I have been creating with for over 8 years! They love to world build as much as I do so we quickly went hard on some geography, some characters, some countries, and the premise of a world full of magic as twisted and fickle as the laws of physics.
My own focus was mainly orbiting arou...
