I‘ve been trying to squeeze in some animation tests to try and loosen up when it comes to my own expectations, just doodling and trying stuff hence why they’re a bit funky! Procreate is a big challenge to animate with in of itself too haha

I wanted to make at least a small tutorial for this month so here is a technique I’ve been using religiously for some time now! It works on any program as long as you can select things, I of course use it for characters too as shown in the example piece (PMV frame for an upcoming Crowsong video)
I find this super effective for foliage and bigger pieces; where individual shading isn’t time efficient nor necessary!

I use a wacom cintiq 22 HD and my arms are a bit funnily placed due to how far away and weirdly I had to sit for the recording C,: I also hope the low movie quiality isn't too horrendous either aha, enjoyyyy
The animation itself featuring these won't be done in a while so I thought I could share the finished still frame + some alternatives for backgrounds >:D! Had a blast doing these and although I really had to rush with them I am quite happy with the results!

Apologies for the wait! But at last the zine speedpaint is here! Due to the sizing and layer difficulties the quality isn't the best, but I hope it still gives an insightful look at the process! Some scenes were done by building up layers while others stayed as the grayscale sketch but with added overlays and effects! Huge thanks to everyone who supported the zine as well!
