Chapter 383

He groaned as he pulled himself from the wreckage. There were so many wood splinters in his skin, and he even found himself completely impaled by a branch the size of his arm.

“Rude,” he muttered, looking up at the sky where he had fallen.

Thankfully, he was able to siphon a lot of the force from his fall before he hit the tree, but that still didn't mean he was able to nullify everything. Despite his best efforts, he hit it with enough force that it hurt like a bitch. View Post

Chapter 382

The fact that he couldn’t really see or understand this object made examining it a little boring. It was like watching paint dry. When he couldn’t handle any more of it, he finally took the last step through the gate. That was when he got the notification.

Congratulations, Fifth Floor Cleared. As a reward for reaching the halfway point, you will be allowed to take a break and recover. Once you are ready to proceed to the next floor, say “Next Floor” out loud and yo...

Chapter 381

Lily POV

She gasped for breath as she tried to climb just one more step. When she finally managed to crawl onto it, she crumpled into the stone, whimpering for relief.

The other floors hadn’t been too hard on her so far. Even the last one, which had taken her far longer than she would have liked, wasn't that bad. The main reason why it had taken her as long as she did was that she hadn’t been able to find the trolls.

They were hidden in a secret va...

Chapter 380

Doren POV

Doren was sipping on his tea and relaxing under the sunlight with a serene smile on his face. Of course, this sunlight was so powerful and intense that it would have burnt anyone below Tier 4, but to him, it was a pleasant sting.

It was partly why he had chosen to create his floating palace all the way up here. It also helped that this sunlight was what helped power the palace in the first place. Still, he basked in the moment, appreciating the time to r...

Chapter 379

It was amazing how well this technique worked. It gave him so much space to fight. Dealing with the trolls when he wasn’t being harassed by all sides was much easier. They didn’t stand a chance and were quickly dispatched by him.

The issue was that it required a lot of willpower and focus from him. Using three Concepts was a hard thing to do, and the trolls had some sort of Life Concept of their own, which let them fight back easier.

He was enjoying himself, though. He w...

Chapter 378

He found a path down to the valley and calmly made his way down. He didn’t bother to hide his presence, either. His confidence that he would be able to protect himself if anything went wrong helped matters as well.

It was only when he got closer to one of the trolls in the fields that it took notice of him. He saw its head whip up and looked at Julius with confusion. For a moment, the two of them just stared at each other without moving.

“Hello,” Julius smiled br...

Chapter 377

Lily POV

She took a deep, calming breath once she saw the notification that she had cleared the conditions of the third floor. The wraith had disappeared once she had taken care of it, but still, this rift was very odd.

The first floor had been simple enough. Goblins were a common monster amongst rifts, and defeating them was expected. They weren’t some special variation or powerful species either. They were simple, weak goblins that weren’t that hard to...

Chapter 376

He was extra glad that he decided to stretch out his fight because he learned that the wraith had more tricks up its sleeve. It would sometimes use some sort of skill to teleport using the surrounding fog.

There was obviously some sort of cooldown, but from what he could tell, there was no mana or aura cost to do so. It completely relied on the huge quantity of fog to do so.

It was quite the fascinating technique, one he doubted he would be able to learn without help from an...

Chapter 375

He lowered his natural defenses just a bit. He wanted to see how this fog affected his body and what its purpose was. The moment he did, he was able to feel the fog seep into his skin, deep into his pores. Then it began to eat away at his mana. It even started to try and eat away at his aura, though that was much harder for it to accomplish. The second it touched his ruinous aura, it was eviscerated without leaving a trace behind.

With that being said, he still felt some of its effects....

Chapter 374

He had to worry about two things when fighting the Ironblood Boar. One was its sharp tusks, and the other was its ability to soak up damage.

While he already knew that monsters often had more impressive endurance and physical bodies, the fact that this Tier 3 monster was taking his punches with such ease was a remarkable feat. Despite blasting the poor thing with kinetic energy over and over, he hadn’t done much.

The boar looked a bit worse for wear, but ultimately it was ...

Chapter 373

Julius looked around and tried to find the remaining monsters. He hadn’t gotten a notification about it ending quite yet and was curious about whether or not he had completed the objective. He didn’t see any goblins nearby but made sure to extend the range of [Absolute Spatial Perception] to get a better view.

However, when he finally sensed something, he didn’t know whether to laugh or be confused. There was indeed one last goblin alive. This one appeared to be much larger ...

Chapter 372

Eris POV

She recognized Lily Violet right away. While most people might recognize the name, they might not know what the young Violet Scion looked like. However, in her case, she had seen Lily before during one of the social gatherings her parents brought her to. It was only about two years ago, but the girl looked very much the same.

She had obviously matured, but those violet eyes were a big hint. While there were plenty of other people in the world with p...

Chapter 371

If there was anything that Julius had learned, it was that he should not underestimate the wonder and unpredictable nature of magic. He should never have doubted whether or not the boat fit all of them. The interior of the flying ship was more than large enough to accommodate everyone and still had room for twice the number of people.

While he and the others were sitting around, away from the more condensed crowd, he felt Ashton approaching.

“I am glad to see that you made...

Chapter 370

The good news was that he got the points needed to rank up. He was now a proud D-rank adventurer. However, that wasn't the only thing that occupied his mind. Ashton’s offer was still tumbling around in his brain.

There was a newly discovered rift deeper in the forest. Unlike most of the higher-tiered rifts, this one was meant for Tier 3s. It was also a very unique rift. Unlike most of the rifts found in the forest, this one had some restrictions. Much like how the Sacred Realm i...

Chapter 369

The man tried to hide his alarm at all of the undead bodies littering the floor, but Julius could tell that it had unsettled him. Julius didn’t blame him for his reaction. There were a lot of undead. At the time, it didn't seem like there were that many undead, but now looking at all of the bodies around them, the number was quite large.

Perhaps, it might have been better not to come along with Kuro. However, he reminded himself that he wasn’t in the same situation as he had been a ...

Julius tilted his head as he felt the man’s aura pulse anxiously.

“Is something wrong?” He asked.

The man returned his concern with an awkward smile. “It’s nothing. I never got your name, by the way?”

Julius hesitated momentarily and considered whether or not to give out his name, but eventually decided that it wouldn’t hurt to be truthful.

“It’s Julius. And yours?”

“Kuro,” the man said while removing the hood of his cloak. Whe...

Chapter 367

“What the hell?” Julius muttered to himself.

The boss room was completely isolated, which meant that he hadn’t been able to see what was beyond it despite using [Absolute Spatial Perception]. That was also the reason he was shocked to see the situation in front of his eyes.

He had walked in half expecting it to be crawling with more undead along with the big bad boss, but what he found instead was a large empty room with two figures. One of these figures was imprisoned in a ...

Chapter 366

Julius let out a tired sigh as he crushed another skull with his fist. Blast after blast of kinetic energy slammed into the crowd of undead with a resounding boom. His Sharpness Concept was helping his output quite nicely.

It still wasn’t as strong as his other skills, but it was definitely showing itself to be a powerful tool. He just wondered what he could do to upgrade his Concept or perhaps gain a skill.

He had quickly gotten used to the undead's fighting patterns. The...

Chapter 365

There was something quite interesting about the sickly green energy that infected his wounds. There were definitely Concepts involved, but he was more interested in how little death-aspected mana he sensed from it. Considering they were undead, he would have expected something much more death-related.

This substance was more like an actual poison than anything else. It was the very reason why his willpower and mana control weren’t able to just wipe it away. It took some actual e...

Chapter 364

Julius didn’t know if he was excited or bothered when he found himself getting swarmed by even more goblins. He liked that there were enough to at least get his blood pumping, but they smelled horrible, much worse than the Flowering Ginkons in his opinion.

There were enough of them that he was beginning to suspect there was some kind of encampment or rift nearby.

However, they weren’t too much of a threat. Despite him primarily using kinetic energy to attack with, the go...

He made sure to go back to the guild after he ate. He still had to make sure he submitted the materials he gathered. He also had some really good news on that front. Because of the added danger of the Flowering Ginkons, he was awarded extra points and almost already ranked up to D-Rank.

It wasn’t exactly the most glorious accomplishment. Typically, it would take a normal person a few days of work, but it meant he would be able to take even a larger selection of missions in the f...

Terus POV

“How are we going to bring all of this stuff back with us?” Josh asked with a tired groan.

“We might have to leave some of it here and make two trips,” Terus said, exhaling a sigh. Truth be told, they could probably get it all in one trip, but that would mean they would have all of their arms full on the trip back. If something or someone attacked them on the way, they would be in a lot of trouble.

At the very least he wanted his team to ha...

Chapter 361

Rachel POV

It was a family tradition to send out their children on a pilgrimage of sorts. Some believed it to be an archaic practice and was more risky than what you would gain in the end, but her parents were firm believers in it. They themselves had been sent out on their own adventure when they were Tier 3. It was actually how they met each other.

Rachel didn't quite know how she exactly felt about it. On one hand, she was excited because it gave her a level of...

It took them some time to all get situated, but they eventually got their cards. Julius held his card close to his chest protectively. The bronze metal felt cool against his fingertips, and there was a nice hefty weight that reminded him of one of those black credit cards. The ones that rich kids would show off to everyone and their mothers.

It didn’t have much on it. It was just his name, grade, and a single letter underneath. He recalled what Stephanie and her team had explained to ...

Chapter 359

Ashton POV

Ashton liked his job. The guild gave him and his family some really nice benefits. It was also much less stressful than delving into rifts all the time. It let him relax and hang out with all of his friends.

They had a nice group at the guild. It was like one big happy family, and they spent a lot of time outside of work with each other.

The Adventurer’s Guild was quite impressive. The building itself was one of the larger buildings he had seen in the town so far. It was also one of the busiest as well. Countless people were coming in and out of the building. Many of them were wearing armor of various kinds. However, most of them had some type of light armor, made from leather or other types of cloth.

One person in particular had some armor that caught Julius’s eye. It looked very similar to scaled armor and was lik...

A few days passed, and the time when he would have to leave Goldencrest was nearing. With some convincing from the others, he finally agreed to come with them to the Endless Forest. The idea of delving into different rifts and fighting strong monsters was just too alluring. Something that Aubrey and Edgar loved to point out to him when they were trying to convince him to come along.
