Julius was slammed against the back wall of the training room. He groaned as he picked himself up and was forced to block Cain’s kick heading straight for his head.
Julius didn’t know if Cain suddenly started to feel competitive after seeing Duke Zenith and Vice Sect Leader Cassandra, but he noticed their spars had gotten a little more intense, which was saying a lot considering that they had already been going hard in the first place.
Julius sent a thick wave of flames ...

Julius found himself feeling very satisfied with how things were going despite his initial misgivings. He had been half expecting there to be some kind of conflict; however, it ended up with him gaining some valuable information as well as some unusual exercises that he was very curious to try.
His fire had always been powerful, but if he was being honest, it felt very one-dimensional. She criticized that quite vocally as well. It carried a lot of explosive power and heat, but he felt l...

Julius learned that the Vice Sect Leader’s name was Cassandra, a much more normal name than Adrianagus. The young man and girl were Shin and Maya. He didn’t hear anyone introduce the old man, and the old man didn’t seem particularly interested in introducing himself either.
On another note, Julius found out that Cassandra was excellent at explaining things and an extensive source of knowledge, especially when it came to fire magic.
Furthermore, for some reason, she was...

Apparently, dragging a lifeless body through a crowd of people drew some curious eyes. Who would have thought?
It took some time because of the massive crowd from the tournament, but luckily Stephan escorted them through some specific passages that avoided most of the chaos. Being a Steward of Foreign Relations must have some nice perks.
They appeared at the top of the stadium, where affluent families such as Derek’s had a booth for privacy's sake. Thankfully, there were a lot f...

Julius examined the man who had spoken to them. The man was wearing plain black pants and a black jacket with the golden insignia of the Empire. He didn’t look all that impressive; he was relatively plain compared to most higher-tiered people Julius had seen. He was tall, but that was about it. Still, Julius hadn’t sensed his approach, so he must have been somewhat skilled.
Unlike him, neither Cain nor Freya seemed particularly surprised at his appearance.
“Let him go?...

Derek POV
He watched with an amused grin as the small blue spikes flashed across the entire field. Each flash resulted in the death of a fox. It was a slaughter, and no matter what those interferers did, they were helpless to stop Julius.
While most of the people watching the match were taken aback by the sudden development, he and his friends weren’t. They were used to Julius and knew better by now. Their friend was freakishly strong.
People were giving D...

Julius looked over his notifications as he walked down the hallway. There weren’t that many people around him, so it didn’t seem like a bad time.
[Spirit Fortification lvl 1 -> lvl 3]
[Absolute Spatial Perception lvl 9 -> lvl 10]
All in all, he had gained quite a lot for such a simple fight. Although [Spirit Fortification] was quite a new skill, he wasn’t shocked to see that it had gained a couple of levels. Neither was he ...

Elder Kanen POV
He observed as he watched Elder Delton's “plan” unfold before them. Kanen didn’t agree with the situation at all. House Violet had already warned them not to interfere or mess with Julius Snow. Yet, Elder Delton’s ego couldn’t let things stand.
Kanen still didn’t know how Delton managed to arrange this entire thing. He suspected that the Conclave or House Greyson had done something to help. It was such a stupid plan, he wondered w...

Julius stared across the field as the sound of the crowd rumbled through the entire stadium. He let his focus skill help him remain calm, not allowing the crowd’s emotional auras to overwhelm him. It was at these times that he disliked his advanced aura senses. It was like having the nose of a wolf and being perpetually stuck in a sewer.
He kept his eyes closed as the referee explained the rules, and it was only when he heard the final countdown that he opened them. He was in ti...

Finally, it was Julius’s turn.
So far, Christina, Derek, and Edgar had all made it. He believed that Liam and Irene had made it as well, but he hadn’t been paying as much attention to their match. He had left early to go congratulate Derek and Edgar.
Aubrey still had until later today for her match, so they wouldn’t know until then. The only person who hadn’t made it past the first stage from their friend group was Cyrus. Julius didn’t think it was a big deal ...

Julius found himself quite entertained by all of the fighting. He was completely engrossed as he watched the hundred competitors slaughter the monsters.
“That girl is not so bad,” Freya commented as they watched Christina finally cross the seventy-point threshold. Since they were technically his “guardians”, they were allowed in the family area to observe the fights.
Julius had been expecting to see Derek’s family here as well, but apparently, they had their very o...

Unfortunately, he wasn’t fighting that day. Given the tournament's structure, there would be three full days that would be stretched out. This wasn’t the case for the others, though. They were already getting ready for their groups. In fact, Christina was already preparing to fight.
Much like the tournament in Heston, there was a special area for participants and their immediate family to watch from. That was where they were all right now as Christina walked onto the field.

Today was the day. It felt like it had been a long day coming. He had been hearing so much about this tournament, but it was only today that he felt like it was actually real.
“Are you ready?” Freya asked him. They were taking a carriage to the stadium where the tournament would be held. He had already been over here to sign up, but if he thought it was busy then, it didn’t compare to today.
There had to be hundreds of thousands of people all cramming together as they tried ...

She wasn’t offended by his tone; if anything, it looked like she was amused. “Oh, you always end up hearing things from people. Even more so when it pertains to someone who is friends with the likes of Lily, Derek, and the daughter of Fiona Crysalia,” the woman answered with a smirk.

Julius found himself dressed up in some of the most extravagant clothes he had ever worn. If he thought the Tier 5 had some nice clothes, this was on an entirely different level.
However, it took everything he had to fight for something simpler. The tailor had done her best to dress him up in colorful clothing with gold embellishments. That wasn’t his style, and he insisted on wearing something a little more… subdued.
She kept on insisting quite firmly, something h...

The next day, he had gone back to the estate. Cain and Freya were there alongside him, but for some reason, the atmosphere was much more tense and formal. He didn’t even believe it was because of the two of them, either. It was more likely because the Duke was supposed to have arrived today.
Julius also found out the reason why the Duke had arrived today, of all days. It was because later tonight, there was a special dinner that many of the bigwigs were invited to. This included membe...

“God dammit!” Julius heard from Christina as she picked herself up from the ground.
It had been two days since he had evolved his soul for the second time. In those couple of days, he had gone with his friends to the tournament site, where he officially signed up. They were right, it had been swamped. He could not have gotten out of there faster.
The tournament would begin in a couple of days, and all of them were trying to improve as much as possible before it started. ...

Julius found himself smiling like a loon. He had some doubts about what was happening and whether he was actually undergoing a soul evolution. He was just very relieved that it was and not something else.
Unfortunately, he didn’t have much time, and within five minutes, he needed to make a decision. He groaned grumpily as he staggered to his feet like a drunkard. His mind was still very fuzzy, and he wasn't all the way coherent.

Freya had been hoping that by acquiring another powerful skill, Julius would initiate his soul evolution. She happened to be correct on that assumption, but she also felt like it might have been a mistake.
While she had some experience with healing soul damage, she would by no means call herself an expert on soul magic. There were only a few people she knew who had such expertise. Most of them were likely locked away in some room, spending all of their t...

Julius walked away and over to Marcus. He had taken it easy on the poor girl in the beginning, but had to increase his effort slightly. He hadn’t been planning on it, but he had been forced to use his aura. The three of them took a teleportation array to the edge of the border of the Empire. The town they arrived in was quite unique. First of all, there were a large number of guards patrolling the area, all of them seemed very tense for some reason.
Furthermore, there was an even larger amount of security leading up to the gates. Massive enchantment arrays were placed all around the east gate, and people were packed in like sardines, trying to make their way over there.
