If nothing else, Nanase would be visibly conflicted enough for someone like George to take it as confirmation.

I like the idea of George being intimidated by very few people, and one of those few people being Nanase.

Which probably isn't surprising, because it's in the comic.

Tall Magical Scientist Tedd

As a seer, Tedd relies on wands to cast the vast majority of their spells.

Wands need not be sticks, however. They can be clothing accessories, and even just clothing.

The limiting factor for such wands is that they can't store much, if any, power themselves. All the magic energy used needs to come from either ambient magic, or the caster themselves.

Non-Threatening Elliot

Elliot had recently learned he could come off as threatening without meaning to. This was a great shock to him, and only him. 

This devastating news gave Elliot an impulse to assume "less-threatening" forms around other people. Given what forms Elliot had access to, this meant short feminine forms.

While at the mall with Ashley one day, Elliot decided to go even shorter than usual. He did this while hidden from view while Ashley stood guard some distance away.

Regardless, in case you forgot that Ellen has a bit of a connection to Elliot, here's Ellen being genuinely concerned that she is not adequately contributing to her chosen place for hanging out with friends.
