Not a complaint, just a statement of fact that January's donations fell below my sustainability threshold. As a result, I'm focusing on creating richer content for the more profitable tiers, and freebies will be limited this month. I'll be making adjustments and rebalancing my efforts over the next 2 months and see if things get better, even if it only means that I'm better budgeting my time and resource usage as money gets tighter.

Saturday Shift

The all-tier renders will be few this weekend. I'm going to work through some Blender tutorials and try to get as comfortable working with it as I am with 3ds Max. DAZ has always been limited in terms of animation, and the dforce cloth and softbody simulator still needs improvement.

The Expanimation Will Be Delayed By A Few Days

It will still come out this month. I usually like to release the Expanimation on the 25th of the month as a Little Christmas kind of thing, but a technical error has necessitated a restart of the render and it's going to drop Friday or Saturdaz. Tomorrow's impossible, even Thursday would take a miracle.

Sometimes I Wonder About My Muse

My artistic inspiration has been very sporadic lately, so I take what I can get. Still, there are some "wtf?" moments that make me wonder where these ideas come from. First, let me say that I'm not a Queen fan, the radio hits are about all I know and I've never owned or sat through an entire album by them. Still, this was the thought process that brought this about last night:

Started this on Saturday and wrapped it up today. The idea was create a relaxed and cute moment that gives a bit of dimension to the character.

Venting - So You Missed Out On The 5th Anniversary Morphs

I created 2 special tiers starting with the 2020 Holiday Season, and continued through 2021 as a special celebration marking 5 years of Patreon campaigning. I shared a limited series of custom morphs for an additional $5, and I made it very clear that this was a one-time offer. Mother Of The Triplets

Here's a scene spun off the previous figure study. This 2018 character, updated for 2022, combines Sakura 8 with the Gin character morph and is the source of the triplets Ayane, Kaede, and Asuka.

AnimeGirl Curvage

In order to reach inspiration, I sometimes create somewhat dull "study scenes" that at least yield interesting possibilities for poses and morphs. Here's an example, a scene featuring the 5 types of Sakura 8-derived character bases I have available, with 2 simple figure morphs added to compare the effect. I've saved 3 new poses and more than a dozen figure presets from this scene alone. If a new scene doesn't come from this exercise, at least I produced resources from the time spent.

[Update: Climate change has brought deep snow followed by freezing rain and I'm home from work today planning to set aside some time for DAZ. Roads are a mess, and when I attempted my commute this morning someone walking in the street slipped and nearly fell in front of my car!]

December 2021 Comic

I'm having a snowed-in Saturday. The roads were too treacherous for my tires earlier, and now White Christmas is halfway up my hubcabs. Just another SaturDAZ Faturday.

The renders take almost 2 hours each. I hope I have enough time to get to the transformation today. We'll see, there's always tomorrow.
