These dancing girl sketches went over pretty well on the stream. Speaking of, gosh I was soooo out of practice coloring a full page comic. Ya know, I've been falling a little off the wagon with updating this patreon. It's sorta come to the point though, where I've got a bunch of drawings but I also kinda think a lot whether or not I should post them. I should get over that though, the idea was exclusive access to sketches and stuff and you can't have that if you're not getting a semi real time account of draws!

Earlier on in Cassiopeia Quinn, the first dozen or so space ship designs were pretty haphazard. I often designed them on the page or just shortly before working on the page. I spent a night doing a few sketches for some future ships. I wanted to get them "right" because there's a good chance we'll be seeing more of these particular designs. Thankfully over the course of a comic I got to consider some of the ground work and basic icons you'll find within each fleet of ships.

Honestly, I don't know what to think about Cassiopeia Kirby.

well that last computer crash sucked

A computer crash isn't all that rare a thing for me. My pc is a hobbled together frankenstein, with an OS that hasn't been freshly installed since before two different processors and hard drives. But a certain kind of memory dump crash combined with Manga Studio 5 seems to reliably genearte a unique and really crappy problem with MS5 EX's story files. And it makes some pages no longer operable, and by extension the story file refuses to open if it can't preview every page in the story. I've ta...

I might've been a little more ambitious at the start but I think working within the center hex came out nice anyway. There are some other ideas I might like to do but those will have to come about some other time. The nice thing about doing it with just the center hex like that is that it'll be easier to use elsewhere.

I think I give off the impression I don't like drawing backgrounds. To an extent, I do try to avoid it. But when I get into a backdrop, I get into it in a big way. I like the little lived in details when I can put them in there. And then if it's a cityscape, I try to fill it with believable peoples. And an alien cityscape? Forgetaboutit. Gonna level with ya, this punch suuuuucccckkkkssss. I'm tempted to redraw it again but it'll be hours I've spent on this page going nowhere. One more time should do it, but it's really set progress on Amazing /co/ventures back a couple notches. If anyone can draw a really good ass punch, I'll be glad to take notes. I might reconsider the entire page's layout.
