Adult Situations

I'll tell you right now, I have very little (practically zero) experience in making an actual adult comic. And yet I've always been intrigued by the challenge. An offer came up to write my own story with pretty significant pay per page, so now there's very little reason I shouldn't at least try.

I've done only a bit of informal polling on the matter, and if people were being honest then the things people look for in a porny comic are often the same things people look for in any good...

Totes Serious

As my patreon keeps going, I've almost defacto ended up as a primary illustrator for a number of pretty darn cool stories and characters. Thankfully they all sorta happen to revolve around a number of my interests!

So here we got some robot lady type deals. The inking and lineart came out pretty nice, and you can find a PSD in the high res folder should you like that sort of thing. You'll be able to see how I do the lineart underneath a pencil layer.

Fashion Maddy

I know the way we've depicted Captain Madison Vrax, she'd seem much more comfortable in conservative styles or even wearing a kind of pants suit in formal occasions. But I never really thought that was how she sees herself. Like, some people who wouldn't know her very well would say, "That Vrax doesn't like to do anything fun." And then she'd respond in a Leelaa from Futurama voice, "I like fun!"

I was particularly happy with this panel, though it might not technically be my best and of course it's a bad moment for Cassiopeia.

But I wanted to share a closeup of it cause I think it's a good example of something I've been trying lately. Traditionally, regular inking and even digital inking is done OVER the pencils. What I'm trying to experiment is with drawing UNDER the pencil layer. Clearly this is impossible in physical media but with digital it's been an interesting change ...

I think I'm going to stick with the idea that many, if not all, of the monsters in the Technomancer Verse are going to be inspired in part by "glitches" in graphics or digital photos and the like. It's not something I've seen so much of, and if I can get it just right it should be distinctly believable and disturbing.

So as far as the first issue of "Pretty Julie Technomancer" is concerned, the first line in the comic is going to be "I want that F%@#ing phone." skin tests

Please ignore the quality of the anatomy and lineart here. I've become more interested in returning to coloring. With Cassiopeia and the sketch commissions being in black and white these days, I missed a lot of opportunities to practice coloring. I think though, I've gotten pretty good with creating a soft skin tone that still manages definition when appropriate.
