I admit I'd been having pretty bad sleep and anxiety this week, if you've seen in the news the North East has been battered by a lot of rain from Hurricane Ida. Chrome Colette

Oh nothing too impressive today. I've got a bit of a backlog of comic work that I gotta focus on so I'm afraid some of the next few updates might just be quick sketches in the meantime.

Anyway, it's been a little bit since I drew a Mecha Colette. It's one of those things I'm pretty sure a lot of my audience isn't THAT into but I am a lot. Androids and cyborgs and fully autonomous drones or cyberized humans. I dig it. It sorta has a doll aesthetic and mentality that I enjoy.

Okay so like... yesterday and today were a couple surprising video game announcements for fans of the 1980's cartoon April O'Neil. She's gonna appear in a couple fighting games! And that's pretty cool, like you probably wouldn't have expected a reappearance of the character after that long out of the spotlight. But I guess that a couple of pretty old nerds working at these companies decided to give her a proper adventure where she can fight for herself.

So like... okay if you don't know this one I wouldn't blame you. But it's related to V-tubers (who are more or less voice actors who stream on twitch playing games, while using an anime avatar) and Japanese language in a lot of anime. "Ara ara" is kinda a phrase with a lot of potential meanings, but in this context it's something akin to a sexy older woman saying something like "oh my" where in a context said sexy older woman is somehow being seductive. It's kinda a thing.

More running! Okay so I'm still on my dinosaur kick and I think that show, Camp Cretaceous ended up having a lot to do with that. But I've been revisiting older movies like Jurassic Park 1-3 and even some of the Land Before Time Series. And man. Dinosaurs are really cool. A work in progress! This commentary might be a bit short cause I find myself with a headache and pretty sleepy, all at the same time. I just wanted to say, when I realized this commission would basically be Colette suiting up in a Masamune Shirow style mech, I pretty much couldn't say no.
