The Start of Something Big - 24

And now we can see Takai's final size... Thanks to all of your contributions and pledges, she's just over a mile tall (actually just about 5,300 feet)!

I wasn't able to get past the lineart tonight, but I really wanted to work on something for Halloween! I'll have to finish it later.

(I had a traditional version of this, but I screwed up and I let some ink bleed through the page.)

Inktober - 21 - ‘Little’ Red Riding Hood

I’m slowly (two at a time when a coupon exists) getting more colors. It’s still not quite enough to pull off a full color picture, but it’s enough to experiment with things like this. 

And I need to get better at not letting it bleed outside the lines so much, my gosh this picture is everywhere.

Inktober - 19

Also the winner of this month's Patron's Choice poll! Takai's mummy costume said 'One Size Fits All', but it seems like people of Takai's size weren't included in their focus groups. Now we're using up the last of the ace bandages to try and complete the look.

I really feel like I am starting to make progress with markers.

Change of Season

So I've finally settled on a color scheme for Aimel. The sweater and scarf may change, but I'm pretty hooked on that minty shade of green. 

I've been so busy with Inktober and everything else that I really haven't done much digital lately, so it felt really good to finish this. ^_^ I'll put it on dA and Tumblr near the end of the month, so until then, enjoy this sneak peek!

Inktober - 16 - Big Rock Candy Mount Hyjal

Tafyrae's at it again. Someone's turned Mount Hyjal into rock candy, and she's about to dig in. I do wonder exactly what will happen when she eats the World Tree, however. :O

(Also - I cheated and did a little digital editing afterwards on this. After I inked it, I was brushing off some eraser dust and SMEARED her face pretty awful)

It took me a while to get to color this... I wanted to go get a couple of shades of blue so I could. But gosh I have a lot to learn about these.

Inktober - 12 - Change of Season (Aimel)

Here's another not-traditional one. I ended up only having little bits of time here and there lately, so I haven't had time to break out the art for more than a few minutes. This is something I sketched out last week that I really started to enjoy, and I'm really wanting to color this once I figure out what her colors are going to be like! :)

Well that escalated quickly. I got news today that work is going to be ramping up with a Halloween deadline, so my busy October just got a little busier!

That said, I'll at least try to get a few more inktober pictures out, and I am really looking forward to seeing which of these awesome ideas gets picked!

Inktober - 9 - Lapis (WIP)

Today's my brother's birthday, so I thought I'd make the inktober I think he'd like seeing.

This one is going to need more than one night to complete. I sketched it out today and inked it, tomorrow I hope to get some time to use markers on it. :D

Inktober - 8 - Tucked In

This weekend, my good friend Joey came to visit, and while she was here, she demonstrated some of the magic of Copic markers to me. So today I went out with my Michael’s coupon and got a small set… And I’m really just so happy with how they perform. I know this picture is rough and rudimentary, but the way they blend and how they feel when you’re using them is amazing. 

Inktober - 6 - Wicked Game

Okay, so the game is This War of Mine. It's based off the video game, and it is brutal. Last night, one of our characters got shanked with a knife while trying to steal a cat. We had intended to eat the cat, but couldn't go through with it. So we returned to the shelter, shanked, with a cat, and no food.

We're really, really screwed.

Inktober - 5 - Long

So I stuck to a prompt for once! Although in all honesty, I should have drawn the card game we tried tonight... Because my gosh it was looooooooong. Maybe I'll do that for tomorrow's drawing!

Inktober - 4 - I've Got My Eye On You

Tonight I wanted to draw Goat's Nim, and after looking for some inspiration (procrastinating while playing Overwatch) I noticed she and Mercy have really similar hairstyles... And wings... So naturally I drew the whole Halloween outfit for her! :D

My new favorite thing about October (as of last year) is Over the Garden Wall.  Nothing quite captures the feel of the fall season quite like this show.

Another old pony drawing. It's actually kind of funny to look at the anatomy changes since then. Takai's legs look more proportionate, her neck is a tad less giraffe-y, and her butt seems to have doubled in size. Crazy.

Measure Up (And Up)

Revisiting my old journal theme on dA with an update to Takai's height (11' 10") and some newer artwork! Plus, since I know all about CSS now, I should be able to make my journal theme really, really nice!

Patron's Choice - September

It's make it work time! This month instead of one finished and lined picture, I want to do a few sketches and such. I got these done today, and I want to try to do at least another page before the end of the month. ^_^

How do you guys like this idea? Multiple sketches instead of lineart? It won't work for every idea, but on ones that are general enough like this, I think it could be fun to do more rough pictures.

Vault - Gimme Shelter

So this oldie is from when I first decided to draw ponies. We had just barely figured out what our characters would look like, and I wanted to do a little picture of Tea sheltering the rest of us from the storm (despite the fact that the storm would undoubtedly make her bigger the longer it went on).

I'm glad i found this one, because it makes me remember just how far I've come as far as drawing ponies. I definitely feel like I've improved a lot there.
