TLDR: After the Demo or game release, I might release Fel, Kira & Krita as gamified AI assistants - if there is enough interest (as it's already been built).

One of the reasons I started Drone Commander was before this whole GPT rush, I was building out post GPT equivalent engines (i'm a 15+ year AI Dev - specifically I started in Neurocomputing, a field that's very rare).

So I finished up Fel, she actually helps me everyday..though it can get annoying as she pops ...

It's time to start adding some male characters to the game.

I'll list the species we have so far and their backgrounds below.

I'm open to anything as long as they are an existing species, you can put in a request for new species of course (but I always do female characters first...it's only gentlemanly).

Whoever's suggestions I pick, will get mentioned in the credits for their contribution

I wanted to take some time to share with you guys my what's been going on, my progress and plans for the game.

i've actually been slowed down a bit by the hardest task i'll face (other than porting) which is RTS path finding and optimisation.

This isn't the actual dialogue you will have, it's going to be a ton of a lot more shadier.

REMEMBER: Snep is an antagonist, a BIG one - she has a hate hate relationship with you.

Yes you will get that tough path to romance her, but ultimately through the game she wants to savage you in more ways than one!

Her people were forced from their planet thousands of years ago by the drone fleet, unlike other races. They forgo'd finding another home world as they were always at each others throats anyway.

Instead a huge faction of them formed a mafia like cell where they stole from other planets and built up their own small empire, the other group a resistance to that mafia. It's pretty messy, they've all but forgotten the dire threat to...

Fighter Squadron

I'm working hard and fast to get content out for you guys rapidly! Within 1 hour I just rustled up a fighter squadron (takes roughly 3 to disable a battleship).

AGAIN: please note this is all rapid development and subject to VAST improvements...still i wanted to share the development process with you guys.

RTS - quick glimpse of DevWork

I just completed some really hard rotation math due to a limitation with Python, i've worked around it now.

I've released part of of chapter one (i'll release part 2 tomorrow).

Working hard to get Demo end of month.

Currently i'm working hard on the RTS part, i've decided on approach; i'm tacking a really tricky calculation problem, i've just solved it now. Soon things will pick up fast an can show some video.

I'm also designing/drawing our first human cast (will show soon)

I've built a full AI parsing interface so i can generate voice for all the plots at a touch of the button....but even APIs take time to process the level of dialogue. Still it's a great substitute whilst i look for high quality voice actors.

We're going in the right direction..

Voice Over Demo (and a request for voice actors)

So coding up voice integration took me a lot less time than I imagined, but it wasn't easy because...

• The character like Fel needs to stop talking the same time the track ends.

• If the user clicks to skip text, the audio should skip as well

• Audio should be in sync with her lip movements.

There is still manual work, like me assigning each track to each response of Fel's I need to name it, save file in right location and point to it...

Chapter 1 is done!

A bunch of cleanup and tightening to do....

I've already got chapter 2 all planned out, the main challenge her is it will include some initial RTS stuff, Kira is going to train you up!

I'm also thinking of releasing a Demo/alpha for you guys to play of just chapter 1. If i do that, it will likely take me a week to get it all together, manage the porting etc.

But either way, when I do release an alpha, voice for the characters will be there I think.
