CABIN TRUCK REVEAL !!!

I will tell you the lore of the kokopelli cabin truck…

My friends Jo and Tanner built this beauty years ago. When I was glamping in the bus, there was a summer that they needed somewhere to park. We became neighbors! Btw I call it glamping because I never fully insulated or built out the bus to be a home. Years later after a few trips down the Alaska Canada Highway and back they broke up and eventually decided to sell the truck.

Meanwhile, I spent a few summers in the bus, but ultimately realized I could never get anything done inside the bus if I lived in it at the same time. The following two summers, I tried to line up housing where I could park and work on the bus outside. I found this to be difficult. One great option fell through, the next summer I had a lot of work and needed a lot of naps (after a crazy winter in New Orleans), and finally I really needed a place that I could actually store all my belongings. Last October, I finally landed an itty bitty cottage. Basically, glorified shed with heat (there’s a cute video of it on instagram). The cottage was my storage shed for 11 months and I lived in it a little more than half the time. It was so small it was hard to move *everything* from the bus and live comfortably. But it did prove helpful for me to go through 70% of my belongings and be more organized when I had to move out. The landlord decided he’d rather use the cabin on his hunting land than rent it.

The same month that I was moving out, my car breaks down. Realizing I am about to be homeless and without a car, I go to look for another vehicle option. Bada bing bada boom! Magic! I see the kokopelli cabin truck listed online and I absolutely can’t believe that my homies are selling it. Long story short, they picked me over all the random and gave me a deal since the truck needed some tlc right away.

So far, we have replaced the radiator, fixed a tail light electrical issue, temp fix on the heat, new wiper knob, and so on. We still need to replace the glowplugs and fix the transfer case so the 4wd options are usable, amongst other things. Baby steps! And by we, I mean I bought the parts, my partner paid for the labor, and our mechanic actually fixed everything haha.

We are still settling in and figuring out how to stay organized in the small space. The bus currently serves as a storage unit again. But we are happy to have a place to lay our heads and we love our lil cabin life! I will make some cute videos in the truck eventually buuuuut for now you all get the first look at our new home.

P.S. I shouted you all out on my instagram saying thanks!
