ENTERPRISE - s1e20 "Oasis"

Welcome to Enterprise pod #2, Lieutenants!   Many of you noticed old Secunda accidentally posted a Voyager to the Lieutenants lounge for a bit.  Hope you enjoyed your taste of the upper crust buffet!

This episode features another blond ghost lady that runs away!  And boy does Earth seem way behind on hologram technology.  Other than that, BUCKLE UP -- it's TEPID EPISODE WEEK on ENTERPRISE!

Post your Enterprise-related comments/questions here for consideration for next month's Enterprise pod!

Been meaning to post this for a bit, but I always miss my chance before the episode is recorded. It's been discussed a few times on the pod how many of the races are different/weird, etc, when compared to later in the Trek timeline. Suffice to say that in more than one case these are actually plot points in the show later. Now whether or not this is writers cleaning up their earlier mess, or intentional choices from the start, is probably up for debate. Based on specifics I can't say for spoiler reasons I'm inclined to think it's a mix, but will be interested to see what you guys think when the time comes. So glad you guys are going through this show, I've always enjoyed it more than the fanbase seems to on the whole. It's different from other Trek for sure, but not to an unrecognizable level like we saw in Discovery. Humanity often doesn't have the tech or inter-species experience to deal with problems as gracefully as in chronologically later shows, and I view the show as a whole in terms of humanity emerging from its infancy and experiencing growing pains. I also really dig the entire NASA submarine aesthetic, as it feels like a bridge between later ships and our current technology.

Mine's Worf joining, but upon googling it, it looks like both events happens at around the same time.

Timescale post (but actually discussion of coming DS9): Everybody talks about TNG getting good with Riker’s beard but my big demarcation has always been that DS9 kicks into gear when Sisko shaves his head. I’m not the only one, right? The first seasons limp along about while Sisko grieves [spoiler]. But when he gets his groove back, baby, it’s on!
