When DS9 first ran, I didn't get past the 3rd episode. About 5 or 6 years ago I finally binge-watched it. That first season really reminded me why I didn't watch during the original run. Also during that binge, it took me almost the full season 1 to stop hearing Brooks say "Spensaaah" in my head. And then it immediately came back when I saw him in Season 3. I thought his acting in Season 1 was G-d awful, if not downright creepy. By mid-season 2, that went away (thankfully!).

Literally the first episode I enjoyed Avery Brook's acting, because he was playing against character and not doing his Laurence Olivier stage voice and tone. I still say he was miscast. But I'm willing to keep plodding to see if he gets better. O Brien, man, Layer Cake, so much fun.

Favorite podcast activity: maintaining my 150 gallon planted aquarium. Wet hands means I need lots of Andy and Matt in my ears for an extended period of time. Star Trek names for my fish? Of course! I've got a school of white cloud mountain minnows I call the Binars, a school of albino cory catfish I call the Borg, a nerite snail I wasn't sure of the gender that I named Soren (they ended up being she!), a rabbit snail named Benjamin "Sisko" Bunny (although she turned out to be Benjamina - Spanish pronunciation). Plus an assortment of other nerdy named aquatic creatures. Keep the long podcasts coming - I am forever cleaning and replanting uprooted plants.
