In their Enterprise episode, Matt mentioned how Spock and T’Pring were speaking English and then switched to speaking Vulcan. My fix for this was the English was them speaking common Vulcan and the Vulcan was the equivalent of them speaking a Latin prayer or saying like carpe diem. Also it could be that Spock and T’Pring speak different Vulcan languages so they have to use the translator to talk but they both switched to a shared Vulcan language for the more intimate conversation… idk
