Hey guys!
In my latest video, the 100-hour spaceship, I ended up making these volumetric spaceship thrusters!

I'm so excited about this effect! From certain angles I think it looks like some sort of frozen-in-time ionic jet engine, which I really like. It also renders super fast in Cycles!

The effect is all about layering different volumetric emission shaders on top of each other. I used a simple color ramp to create this pulsating 3D texture pattern. Some of the volumetric mesh has a hole in it, so when viewed off-axis they look like circles!

The volumetric shader elements are controlled using a Child Of constraint.

Also, I'm sorry it's been a while since the previous project file! I'm planning to get the 10 hour spaceship posted here soon as well, just need to clean up the project file a bit first. (The 100 hour spaceship will be available for everyone for free at a later stage!)
