Hello! I've finally completed the Cyber Kraken project! In this post you'll find the final project file, as well as some tips for how to get the most out of it.

So in my latest video, we're making a sci-fi octopus in Blender! The process is a combination of many of my previous tutorials, and it was a lot of fun visiting older ideas to bring them into this new concept.

Also I'm trying something new, so for this project I've posted the entire 7 hour timelapse on my second channel!

The project file is ready to render, and it comes with all the textures, materials and animation I used in the final shot of the final render.

Due to all the subsurface scattering, volumetric light and particles, it's an extremely render-heavy scene. I wanted a beautiful falloff of the volumetric light going into black, so I couldn't have any noise theshold enabled, and it needed a really high sample count. So because of all this, each frame took over 4.5 minutes to render on the RTX 4090.

For the final render, I made an intricate particle system that I didn't get to show in the tutorial, but you can see it being made near the end of the timelapse on my second channel.

Please note that the particles are bugged on the first frame, so if you're rendering a still image I recommend you render frame 2. The particles are disabled in viewport in the outliner, to make selections a bit easier.

If you're rendering an animation, I highly recommend baking the particles before rendering!
