Hello!
In the latest video we'll be simulating our own handwriting using some interesting cloth simulation tricks! This is the technique I've been teasing a little bit on instagram, and I must admit even after multiple weeks of testing, it's still a very fun technique to play around with!

We'll use the build modifier to animate the writing of the text, and then it's simulated using the cloth modifier. This animation is then placed on top of real footage! Both the video background and the glow of the text is added in-camera, so there is no need for compositing after rendering! Eevee is such a game changer for stuff like this.

The project file from this week's tutorial includes the rotoscoping work I did when recording the tutorial, but I highly recommend that you try this yourself! It felt like a good exercise to get an understanding of how hand movement translates to key frames at 30fps. Or even better, record your own footage!

Works in Cycles too! A fully CG variation of the project file is also available at the end of the post. It's both animated and simulated, so I highly encourage you to play around with the settings!
Also, a big THANK YOU. After going 45 days with no posts or videos, you have still supported me on patreon while I worked on this video. That support is what makes this video possible. I once again really need to say thank you for making it possible for me to be able to make tutorials like this as my job!

Looking forward to see what you'll create with this!
