I go with more traditional paint this time, instead of what I intention here.
As usual I start with the sketch but this time I want it looks more details, planning to paint it roughly underneath. Boi how wrong am I lol
Then I rough painting the whole pic so I can see the overall color.
I want it to feel a bit deep and dark, planning to have some dark blue forest behind him.
The first version is good but I don't like how it looks like under water. Too watery.
So I paint another one. Using The Sword in the Stone color palette as a references for cool, deep jungle feel.
Too cool XD I need something in between. I then added some warm lighting and tree shadow on him.
Perfect! Time to clean the painting up!
Voilà! Now we're ready for the next final step. Composition time! I'm gonna put everything in timeline and render, and maybe fix here and there.
