Super excited for this! I love these movies! I actually wrote about it in a essay and presentation I did in uni!

I haven’t been able to watch this movie all the way through. Probably because it genuinely scares me. For it only being 1974 it’s pretty scary for it’s time. I feel like the 70s were a time horror explored uncharted territories (like the Exorcist.) There was something that about this movie that gave it a very “real feeling.” Not the effects, but the acting and pace. You see a lot of scary movies where all the murder sequences happened at night. A lot of this happened in broad daylight in the middle of no where! Also, that meat hook scene and her blood curling scream right before it is to me one of the most genuine scary horror movie scenes ever. Also also, lots of people mistake this as a true story rather than the fact that it’s inspired by a true story. N

God damn, the original is just amazing. It's so good that the horror doesn't need to come from a chainsaw cutting people to bits, but the legendary and frustratingly insane Sawyers.

These movies are all super overrated..it’s one of the few horror series I just can’t watch them all cause they suck. I remember the most unintentionally funny part of this movie was when leatherface kills Franklin in the wheelchair because he can’t wheel away. I laughed so hard the first time I saw this and it still cracks me up.

This and Blair Witch Project are at the top of my list for scariest movies.
One thing to mention: The reason the semi truck driver got the hell out of the cab was because Leatherface was right outside the door with the chainsaw. He didn’t have time to start it up without risking getting his head sawed off!

YESSS texas chainsaw! Such an iconic movie. Not a huge fan of it but its importance to the genre is unmistakable. Also kinda honored that my shoutout happened on this episode lol.

I'm not a fan of this series. There's just too many bad movies in it, but this first one makes number 1 on my list of scariest horror movies.
