This movie is not as offensive as toxic avenger 😭 chill guys it’s okay. I love this movie

Nisha Paul

Is there a link for SoundCloud?

Tyler Pretorius

Call me crazy but Ray is one of the best parts of the movie to me

MiiDNiiGHT

IT'S BACK!

BogglesTheOwl

I know I'm insanely late but the best part of the "I'm 25 and a half" is he DOES do 25 1/2 not 30 😂😂 he puts all up 10 fingers twice and then 5 on one hand and half of his thumb on the other hand lmao

MiiDNiiGHT

I wish this one wasn't deleted :(

flying dren

This one’s SoundCloud link still isn’t working :(

Jeff Moore

Watched the short version on YT, got the Patreon to watch this in full! Honestly, I love this film, yes the humour is crass for today's standards, but I love how exaggerated it is, officer Doofy is my favourite parody of a character "I'm 25 and a half years, this many" then gestures 30, love it

BogglesTheOwl

I'm 22 (born the year this came out), just watched it for the first time. I liked it alright. Some funny lines, some unfunny lines. The best parts were genuinely hilarious. The unfunny stuff wasn't offensively bad, just meh. Well, then there is the stuff that has aged poorly which does bother me, but it's not unexpected for a comedy movie made at this time. Overall it's decent, I probably would have liked it more if I saw it as a kid. The commentary track adds a lot to be honest.

Elias Ikari

I'm 34... so I 11/12 when this came out and I loved it... the second and third weren't bad but then after that it went wayyy downhill.

Kenneth D

I love how much random stuff is inscrutable to people nowadays in this movie - like the River Dance joke in the Matrix parody scene. Trying to explain it to someone nowadays would sound like a fever dream.

Josh Moniz

I’m 16, just watched it for the first time. Didn’t love it but it was fun with the commentary track. I don’t think I would’ve finished it if I wasn’t listening to this. It wasn’t as in poor taste as I imagined tbh.

Jim Kaplan

The first time I watched this movie I was like 9 or 10 and I thought it was the funniest movie I’d ever seen at the time. I’m now 25. I watched these movies before I ever saw the movies they were parodying so the first time I ever saw Scream I spent the entire movie thinking the killer was David Arquette 😂

Olivia

Kenny the camera man is my favorite character in this. How he tries to grab her piece of gum so hard is hilarious.

Dolphi

It was my first time and im 17

CrimsonSPDR

So, I have seen this movie way too many times to count. It had the same allure as South Park did when I was a kid (I'm in my 20s now) watching either options on comedy central when the parents didn't shoo me or my brother out of the room. I even when as "Wassup! Ghost Face" for halloween one year when I was like 9 or 10, fully not understanding the reason why it was so funny. Still sort of surprised my parents ran with that idea.

DJ Trost

I'm 12 years old and I think that it's alright, I understand how dated it is and how some could see it as offensive. It's about a 6/10. My favorite moment in the film would also have to be the crack line.

Gabe The Game Master

22, but I had a slightly older brother so I saw Scary Movie 1 & 2 dozens of times growing up. A lot of this one is still pretty funny, and Regina Hall, Anna Farris & even Marlon Wayans kill their roles, but the problematic stuff does weigh it down pretty hard (especially Mrs. Mann, which goes the extra mile beyond the 'ew, trans people' that way too many early 00's comedies peddled in, and goes into genuinely hateful stuff about her being predatory towards the young girls). I'd be really interested in seeing you guys watch the second one, because I rewatched it recently and MAN does that one not hold up (ex. I love Tim Curry, but his whole character is just that he's creepy and predatory). That one does have points for David Cross and Chris Elliott though, who get a lot of the best and worst stuff in that one.

Anthony Pierre Coco

13, and I thought it was funny but I don't think I will watch it again. First time seeing it too, and first commentary track I have seen as a patreon

Jacob Hallock

I'm 24, and I saw this movie only a couple of times, I watched Scary Movie 2 and 3 so much more than this one. I thought this movie was overall good, besides some the problematic stuff it honestly holds up pretty well to me. Some parts of this movie were so funny I was crying with laughter so good on them!

JoeySnowyNoey

So this might be surprising but I am 39 and just watched this for the first time - sort of. I have seen a lot of parts of the first 3 (?) because they were on Comedy Central all the time. But this was my first time actually watching it. And honestly, it was about what I expected back when it came out. Like you said there were some legitimately good parts, but just a lot of problematic things and bad parts too. That being said, I'm glad I finally saw it, and enjoyed watching it with your commentary!

Iain Kerr

I’m only 20 but I used to watch this movie all the time with my older siblings so it’s always had a real place in my life. Very influential movie in my life.

Gabe Schill

I have VERY vivid memories of being in Primary School (Elementary School in USA) and repetedly telling my year 2 (2nd grade) teacher about the girl getting her head cut off and put in lost and found and I don't know why I told her at all let alone as much as I did because it got to the point where she was like 'I KNOW Harvey! STFU'

Harvey Anderson

SOO HAPPY you did this!! Just joined and clearly at a perfect time!!!

Harvey Anderson

Ohhhh imma need you guys to do the second one!!! This one was great rewatching with you two. Cause we all laughed at the same dumb shit haha “we gotta get rid of the body!” “Unnecessary”

Nick Gallegos

Thank you James and Chelsea for this commentary track! Happy to be back as a patreon after a being gone for a couple months!

Christina Bailey

My first viewing was at my cousin's slumber party when I was 10 years old and I was a changed gal. Revisiting it was god awful but I'm glad I was able to have you guys talk over it so I could find something good about it lmaoooo. Also, In Living Color was the shit and I loved it very much

krystina alfonso

I didn't remember how quotable this movie is, but I definitely get a few scenes in this confused with Scream.

Megan Morris

Its been so long since i've watched this movie it feels like I've just watched it for the first time. At the same time i've realized how much I quote this franchise. I need to now rewatch the whole series, especially that fifth movie I didn't know existed until now, and relive the dumpster fire that is 4 and most likely 5. Thanks for reminding me of In Living Color, I loved that show way back when!

Luna

I’ve always prided myself in having a very childish sense of humor so seeing this for maybe the 20th time with you guys was a treat. I still think the third one which doesn’t have the wayans in it carries the most weight but that might just be me

THertzel

Lol thank you so much for this response

Dead Meat

Watched it with this commentary, and its YEARS since I've seen it. Honestly...not as funny as I remember, nothing laugh-out-loud at least. I think the second one has better moments.

Metron29

watched it for the first time, I'm 21 and this sure was....a movie. I've seen the third one before and didn't enjoy that one either.

Kat W

I'm almost 24, and I'd never seen this one before (commenting as the credits are rolling here). This is....trash. But there are parts of this trash that are funny. Like, the jokes at the expense of horror tropes and stuff are funny, if this script kept all of those and added more of them in place of the stuff that's offensive for offense's sake (so basically fixing Ray, Doofy, and Ms. Mann), it'd be really solid. But the way it is, it just leads to a situation where you're having a good time and then suddenly the movie grinds to a halt to make you uncomfortable.

Stuart Wilke

💜Mpls💜

SassyPants Gregorich

okay you guys gotta watch the second one for a commentary track now lol especially if you haven’t seen it since high school

Chris Cullen

I’ve seen this so many times but I’ll watch again because I always find I understand a new joke AND I get to hear you guys talk about it!

Alex Dunkley

Oh, thank you!

Dead Meat

Thank you for this!! I desperately needed something else to do since finishing all of Tiger King!!

Kristin Handley

For the Prince joke - she first became famous for dating Prince and he's the one that gave her stage name.

Megan Condit

Oh fuck yeah!

Doomed Deacon

Yes!!!

Wendy Muller

Omg yes
