Scary Movie 2 (2001) commentary track- July 2020

Hey patrons! Here's your commentary track for this month.

We picked Scary Movie 2 to do something easy but, man, didn't realize how much worse this one would be than the original. So, sorry? We try to make it fun!

We'll do something better next time (maybe Splice? lolol)

Dyko here! As a person who's pretty much legit blind, and has gone through sexual trauma, I don't find this movie triggering or, problematic in any way. Maybe I can compartmentalize better than most people but, I don't find this movie, "offensive," or, "problematic," whatsoever. Here's an experiment. Bring a bunch of white yuppie types whom are offended by their own shadows, the people that are renaming everything native american to something white, and while they are bitching about this movie, bring in the blacks, gays, handicaps, midguts...ect, and I garentee you most of them, will have no issue. Because they are smart enough to know it is make believe. Just my two cents. Love from Dyko. Blessed be!

Hey I don’t know where else to put this but both scary movie commentaries are gone

Also to answer the question james, eh kinda makes me a lil woozy here and there but otherwise not much

No way am I only now learning Francis from Malcom and Hyde from that 70's were related what the actual fuck??

I'm an '03 kid so I was only small when these came out, but I still grew up loving them. Used to watch the third repetitively using the crappy rips that people uploaded to youtube. It's been really cool to go through some of them again and not only feel like I'm enjoying them with someone else, but also getting really interesting insights into the film. Getting all the extra info and references is really fun, I appreciate you guys giving the perspectives of having seen all the reference films and pop culture references when they were happening.

I'd steer away from things that have already been covered by Joe Bob Briggs on Shudder... When there are so many movies to choose from, and at least two popular personalities are in the position to promote the same company, I don't think it makes sense to overlap each other.

Julia Sullivan

Not sure if y'all read comments but amazon prime video has a large selection of horror movies to stream

Obese Homie

Green Room (2015) on Netflix Creep (2014) on Netflix Body Bags (1993) on Shudder or Kristy (2014) on Netflix

C.H.U.D would be great to see covered in some form on the channel. A young Daniel Stern and a small roll from John Goodman you can’t go wrong. It’s a great film on top of it in my opinion.

Mr. Dan Challis

What about Train to Busan?

Jeff Bruns

I know y’all didn’t care for this movie too much but I still had a fun time listening ! Would love to see smthn from Shudder next time too, Splice is just one of those movies where it’s a “I only need to see this once”

Del

YES!

HUlkbeef

Would love to see Kill Counts of this franchise

Dolphi

I actually thought this movie was really dumb but that’s also why I kinda enjoyed it lol

C.R.

Yay! I needed this today!!

Wendy Muller

OH SHIT I can’t wait to watch this
