Early Release for SCREAM 5 (2022) Kill Count

Hey everyone, here's the Scream 2022 KC, and if you're watching it Wednesday night (for a few hours after this posting), please let me know in the comments on Patreon if you notice any issues with the video - technical, factual, or otherwise. There's a new thing I'm doing with uploads that requires the final version up by Thursday morning, so I have to make any final changes tonight.

Thanks and enjoy!

Early Release for SCREAM 5 (2022) Kill Count

And another thing, I am NOT saying that I want Dead Meat to start using another video-hosting source NOW (I mean I DO), but I meant using it in the near future if the copyright issues keep getting out of hand.

Sam Konkel

"Is it feasible for YouTubers to use more than one video-hosting site?" As a matter of fact, I kinda think it IS: Originally, there was a YouTuber named Doug Walker (nowadays known for his irresponsible scandals), who originally uploaded his content on YouTube, and his series Nostalgia Critic was one of my favorite online shows at the time; however, due to constant copyright issues, he either LEFT YouTube, or got KICKED OFF it. Rather than give up, though, he moved his content to the now-defunct Blip.tv, allowing him to use as much copyrighted material as he'd like, and also created his own website called Channel Awesome (formerly thatguywiththeglasses.com). (I'll be honest though: the only reason I learned about him was because YouTubers downloaded his videos, which ultimately directed me to his site, AND caused him to be well known withOUT YouTube.) In 2014, he returned to YouTube as a secondary source to watch videos, but still used his website/Blip.tv as his MAIN source to watch his content...until the latter's shutdown in 2015. One year later, he moved his main video-hosting source to Vessel, but THAT was shutdown the same year. He then moved to Vidme...until it was shutdown a year later. After that, he moved to Vimeo...until 2019 when he left for NO reason and began using YouTube as his main video-hosting source (which he had actually been needlessly doing since 2015). Do you see my point? Doug managed to use TWO video-hosting sites from 2014 to 2019 (a total of FIVE/SIX years tops). Which means it possible for YouTubers to use more than one site to host their content (in fact, WatchMojo has thier own website, as well, as their own video-hosting source, and they are STILL using YouTube as well). But I'll give you the benefit of the doubt: WHERE does it say something like "Oh, by the way, if you want to upload your content on YouTube, then you canNOT use another video-hosting source at the same time"? And since WHEN?

Sam Konkel

Actually, the fact that he stopped using it kinda reinforces the point I made. He clearly didn't want to deal with them for whatever reason and decided YouTube was better.

Jeremy Ross

No, and I find it kinda stupid that he stopped using it, but do you understand my point?

Sam Konkel

does nostalgia critic still use vimeo, sam

Trevor Collins

Wel, there’s Nostalgia Critic who used Vimeo.

Sam Konkel

There's a reason that content creators use YouTube, despite all the problems it has. Have you ever heard the phrase "Famous Vimeo creator?" Can you name someone on Vimeo that is known as well as some of YouTube's most well-known figures? YouTube, as a shitty as it is, is where you go if you want to make it. Not saying Vimeo is bad, but let's face it: It doesn't have nearly the reach that YouTube does. You say he should release the content on more than one site, but is that even feasible? I mean, would he even be allowed to release the same content on two different video hosting sites? I feel like that would be some sort of breach of contract. I don't know of a single corporation that's like: "Hey. you make quite a bit of money for us, but it's fine if you go work for someone else at the same time." YouTube is a job, and I'm sure there are terms and conditions that come with working there, including exclusivity clauses for the content released there. Let me put it this way: You ever see any Mr.Beast content on Vimeo? Pewdiepie? Or any other big name YouTube content creator? There's probably a reason for that. And what makes you think that Vimeo wouldn't be dealing with copyright issues if it had the same mainstream reach that YouTube does? Or that it doesn't already? Also, it's rather shitty of you to be like "Oh, you're having YouTube issues that are being exacerbated by personal stuff? That sucks, but I want my content. Release it somewhere else because I want it now." Which may not have been what you said exactly, but it's the vibe you are giving off.

Jeremy Ross

Bummer, dude. Might I suggest trying ANOTHER video-hosting platform (like Vimeo)? I know YouTube is the most popular, and I’m NOT you should STOP using it, but if you use more than one platform, then you’ll hardly deal with copyright issues on the alternative platform.

Sam Konkel

Blocked by a copyright claim that I'm having a hard time fighting from a hospital in Michigan.

Dead Meat

So, where's the 28 Days Later Kill Count that is supposed to come out today?

Sam Konkel

Next week? Well, better to wait 21 days after the Scr5am Kill Count than 28 days later. LOL

Sam Konkel

28 Days Later will be out next week!

Dead Meat

So, where's the next Kill Count?

Sam Konkel

Uh...does that mean you're going to wait until it comes out on DVD?

Sam Konkel

Yayy thank you! I’m only surprised you didnt mention them watching an episode of dawson’s creek as a nod to williamson. And it’s double funny vecause joshua jackson was in scream 2 but is also seen on screen there. Are there joshua jackson lookalikes in the scream universe?

Grace M

Hey folks, please don't even speculate re: Scream VI here. Some people like going into movies knowing absolutely nothing and I'd like to honor that.

Dead Meat

Please stop this. I am trying so hard to avoid spoilers. I don’t even want to know who is in it. I have avoided the trailer. Can we keep future movie speculation on Reddit or in a clearly marked location? Please?

Moderately Dinosaur

Derek Newman

Felt disappointed with myself unable to watch this Scream movie when released in cinema last year

Mark Lynn

It occurs just before the 4 minute mark

Seb Chambers

I’ve just noticed an incorrect reference in terms of a Scream 6 clip. You’ve listed its reference as 1996 and not 2023

Seb Chambers

Great Video! I've really enjoyed watching all the recounts, and this was a great way to cap everything off!

Ash

Omg agree I honestly love those little bits

Nerdy_Little

One of the most awesome to the numbers bit you done! Tho I was surprised you didn't dress up like your Film Fails counterpart

Nerdy_Little

Allison whitehead

I saw no issues, and the video was a blast - fantastic work! I hope Chelsea recovers quickly and thoroughly, if she hasn't already.

Kiaxet

Dude! That Numbers bit was incredible! You really do get to do some of the coolest shit.

The Spikester

That ending was the coolest thing ever!

OzzyBen

Looks and sounds great to me. Definitely need to keep the Film Fails

DudeAbides1985

Dewey's death floored me. Hes been my favorite since the first film. My boyfriend and I adopted a puppy a few days after Scream 5 came out and I had to name him Dewey.

Maria Rock

Everything looked good to me

Jake Hunter

A sequel I didn’t expect to see happen

Ryan Mohr
