Both items appear in the air. Crabbing the ax, I too few practice swings, it's heavy but balance. Next, I take the compound and sense it. Feeling the power it has, I feel a smile growing on my face.

I leave the rest of my points. Checking my title screen again, I see 150 behind Path creator. Moving on with my plans, I set up my first tattoo session. I will not to them all at once and will start with the easiest. It will go on my right ankle. Its function will be crucial for battle and scouting.

When circling essence into the rune, it will send pulses through the surrounding land. It works similar to sonar, helping detect anything useful like monsters or traps. Not wanting to waste time, I begin. Having practiced this design, I complete it easily.

There is no regional commend crystal on this planet, at least not right now. This sucks, the tattooing skill is a pleasant surprise. Need to test if other regular skills count. Getting my backup felling ax, I go into the forest. I quickly find a suitable tree while holding my strength back I chop it using my ax as soon as the tree fells I get a message.

So I got it, interesting. I wonder if there is any benefit to do leveling these kinds of skills. I decide to take a break for the rest of the day. Making a fire in my sauna, I relax for the rest of the day.

I wake up while the sun is shining brightly. Preparing everything I start my next rune, it’s a huge one that will cover my sternal. It’s meant to boost all my body's abilities by how much will depend on my essence. I chose this one because I believe in planning for the future. I had a choice do to 6 different runes that will boost my body’s different aspects by 2x or one that will boost it all but will depend on my essence strength.

Choosing a long time benefit over short is hard but in the end, it's necessary. Over 12 hours later I wipe the sweat off my body and making finishing touches on my rune. When I feel the rune complete, I lay down from exhaustion and check my notification.

Nice skipped one level. That was too exhausting, so I decided to just sleep for a bit. Waking from my nap with a jolt. My heart raising, I look around for danger but see nothing. Shaking my head to get rid of any drowsiness. I try to find where I sensed danger.

I connected fully with my land and found the problem in an instant. There is a corrupted bear that has entered my land and it huge at least a van size. Moving in an instant, I get my new ax. Using my land connection, I pinpoint the bear and try to set up an ambush. I see it moving towards the dungeon, so I dash that way. It's about 10 minutes out from my current location. I move closer do the dungeon try do great an obvious trail for the bear to pick up.

When I find a suitable location, I move past for a bit, then double back and climb the tree that I chose for my ambush. It only took a few minutes until an earth-shaking cry bellow from the bear. Following its charge as I prepare for my attack, I channel essence into my new rune. There is a rush of power, I shake from the feeling of power. Excitement runs through me while I wait for a perfect moment to lunch myself from the tree.

Charging up my power strike, I count down for the perfect time. Three, two, one now. Seeing the enormous bear while flying through the air is magnificent. Noticing how the bear starts during its head, I yell too late and finish my strike. The ax gets caught in the bear's skull, and it is still alive. I desperately hold on to my ax not to fall off.

While trying to stay on the bear I try to move my body so I’d have the leverage to hit the ax head as strongly as I can. Now, I yell while hitting the ax head it moved a bit deeper, so I continue. Hit two, but it's still alive, hit three and its starting to slow down, hit four finally silenced the beast. If this beast was smaller, it might have reached me with its claws. Do not think I’d survived that. I did level up my power strike up.

Looking around, then at this enormous beast, I felt in awe. There is a new clearing in my forest. I can see around 30 trees that it pushed down and pulverized under its feet. So much power and jet it was useless shows how important a thinking mind can be. I wait next do the bear and decide on what to do with it.

In the game when you kill stuff it drops loot, but I can’t see anything like that. Just in case I use my land scan skill. If I weren’t used to my land connection skill, I think this rune would be a lot less useful. I got a lot more information than the rune description said. Like I can now see something inside the bear in its heart to be exact.

Sighing, I grip my ax and start cutting into the fur. I barely did anything, so I charged up a power strike to cut into it. Five strikes in and I hit the rib cage. The bear is so big I can leave the ribs in place while I work to get deeper in. When I finally get the heart and drag it out, I am fully covered in blood and there is a human-size hole it the bear.

While holding a heart the size of my torso a stupid idea runs through my mind. I remember all those sayings about eating a killed enemy’s heart gives you its strength. Not thinking more, I do it. There is no rush of power, but it was extremely tasty. Looking back at the beast and all the meat there, my mouth started watering. Before I was thinking anything corrupted will only be bad, but it looks like if it's dead it’s a resource.

Not wanting to but the heart on the ground I carry it do my barn and place it on a table. I go back to the bear and start thinking about how to get it back to the barn to butcher it. Using all my strength, I can barely move it. Looking around, I see if my tractor and a trailer can fit to travel here and back. It will be tight in some places, but I think I can do it. The winch was barely strong enough to get it on the trailer and by the time I got the bear into the barn, it was past midnight.

Closing the barn behind me, I cranked the cooling up so the meat will not spoil so quickly. Thanks to my improved stamina and my new rune, I kept working on the bear. It took me two days to complete the butchering. Every freezer on my farm is full of meat, and I turned one of the old barns into a huge smoker.

It will take multiple days to smoke it all, but that will give me time to see if I can do anything with the rest of the bear. Examining the ball that was inside the bear, I come to a decision that this is a core that is so common in cultivating stories. I do not know how I can use it if at all, but the energy inside brings additional questions. It's not raw essence or refined it’s still essence I can tell that much but it a third form of it.

I place it in my safe, to keep it safe until I know what I can use it for. Next, I look at the leather of the beast. I start by cutting out a sizeable piece and removing the fur from it; I collected the fur into bags for later use. Proceeding to make a belt for my ax and a messenger bag for monster loot. I needed to heat the needle with every stitch if I do not the needle would just bend. When I finally finished all the meat was smoked too. I decided not to work on anything else until I get stronger tools.

When all the work was done I had gotten butchering, cooking, and leatherworking skills. It took half a day more to bring all the smoked meat to my cellar. I slept like a log after all that work. Waking up and starting my day with bear stake was magnificent. I started on the next rune this one will give me teleportation. It thrilled me to test it out. But before I need to tattoo it.

Several long hours went by where I needed to focus all that I am on my work. I felt the rune click into place. I slowly but excitedly start to circulate essence into the rune that’s on my right-hand wrist. Instantly I can feel a different space, I keep cycling more into it and my mind expands into a different realm. In this realm, there are a lot of dark greed nodes. One is directly to my back and is a bit brighter than the other nodes.

I started to understand what this is, nodes are the trees I can use for teleporting. It takes me a few moments to overlap my perceptions. Now I can see the nodes all the time. Placing my hand on the tree, I concentrate on the other space and every node is just a step away. I take the step and I walk out of a tree close to the dungeon. It just took me one step to move over 8 km. I kept doing it while a big smile was on my face.

When I was doing my steps, I started felt my rune heating. After a few more steps, it felt like it was burning my skin. So, there is a limit to how many I can do in a short while. Stopping, it cooled down in about half an hour. I was so excited I did not even note my messages from the system.

Cracking my neck, I decided to the next rune today. I see myself in a mirror, next tattoo will go on my forehead. This one will let me sense essence better and form a longer distance. This was the hardest to finish, but luckily it was small. Around 2 hours later it clicks into place. New messages popped up.
