Great reaction. They weren't stealing the cattle. It's their cattle but someone cut the fence and they wandered onto the reservation. After that the cheif says they belong to them bc they're on their land. It would be like if your dog got out and went in the neighbors yard and they said it's their dog now since it's on their property. By law bc the cattle have the Yellowstone brand on them they belong to them. John should get them back but should have to pay a fine for them going over there. There should also be an investigation into who cut the fence. When they blew up that land by the stream they redirected it so it won't run to where they want to build that housing. Now they can't use it for electrical power. Jimmy (The guy they branded) had a choice. Either go back to jail or take the brand and come work on the ranch. Not everyone gets the brand. Only former felons that are being given a 2nd chance. You will see more about that later on. Glad your liking it so far.
