Polites is actually in Wolfy's animatic as well! You only get him fully drawn with his back facing the screen in the flashback, but he's there. Keep in mind, although many things are not Jorge's intention, it was a lyric in your light that, Polites: "...Until we found that wild boar's den... I was rather young and I was oh so scared I saw him lunge and I stared." Odysseus: "You tried to move but your muscles wouldn't give" Polites: "But then you jumped right in his way! You took the boar down and saved the day!" Odysseus: "I only took the blow so you could live." Polites: "Woah~"

2024-05-20 11:38:58 +0000 UTCI don’t see the video for your reaction to the alt animatic of “Ruthlessness.” Am I crazy? Also I love Wolfy’s animations - they’re who introduced me to EPIC! Gigi’s my fav, but Wolfy has a special place in my heart so I love that you’re reacting to their animatic here! I think Wolfy does a great job of depicting humans and their relationships. And so that little smile between Odysseus and Athena kind of shows the bond and memories these two share with each other. Odysseus GREW UP with Athena. So pairing this animatic, this view of the two of them seeming to have a closer relationship, with “My Goodbye” - where Athena suddenly seems to cut Odysseus off completely and says ‘I’m not looking for a friend’ and brings up Polites’ death right after the fact? That makes the break down of the relationship even WORSE. Like yes… we know because of the piano music that Athena hasn’t REALLY abandoned Odysseus completely. But ODYSSEUS doesn’t know that. He thinks the mentor that he grew up with and thought of as a friend for YEARS is GONE. Also… as for whether Athena was summoning a chorus for Odysseus’ part because he was hyping her up… yes. She was. It’s been confirmed by Jorge lol. She “gave” him a momentary chorus there since he was praising her. And, as he said to her in “My Goodbye”… ‘It’s just like you, why should I be surprised? Selfish and prideful and vain.’ :)

2024-05-20 11:37:10 +0000 UTCLove the fact your are now an epic fan. This show is fab. Yes Athena is represented by an owl in Greek mythology, this is where the saying as wise as an owl comes from. I had to study the Odyssey when I did classical studies for gcse, went to private school and did latin up to then,.so I do sometimes get my Greek and roman gods mixed up.

Wolfy is actually referencing how Odysseus gets a scar on his leg from a boar hunt with his grandpa (the old man in the video carrying him to the wagon). In the Odyssey, that scar identifies him to his old wet nurse, his allies, and his father when he returns home in disguise. Why he was in disguise when he gets back, is spoilers. So I will not say anything more.
