GAY FOR SLAY #4 - PAGE 24. Letters.

Well, my beautiful friends...

For better or for worse, we've reached the end. And yet, the end is never the end entirely. Even as ISAIAH battles MOGRAG and his pals from the BRIGAYDE rush to help, you can see that our hero's journey is far from over. But GAY FOR SLAY is over, and I feel amazing about it, and insanely sad at the same time.

In the coming days, I'll assmeble a COMPLETE, chronoligically ordered READING LIST of the entire ISAIAH SHADE saga up to this point. It will include hundreds of pages, so it may take me a moment... HA HA HA! But I'm eager to do this... I think it'll be pretty awesome to read the entire opus from start to finish.

Meanwhile, about this page... I know FLORES' story arc is sad, but I'm so proud of this full circle moment. I feel that JULIO has greatly matured throughout his time in GAY FOR SLAY... and I don't just mean physically. LOL! I love how he began as such a dork and became such a complicated and deeply thoughtful character. I feel he contributed a great deal to the series and to the lives of the other characters. Also, you know me... I love to bounce into the past as well as into the future... so we may see FLORES again down the line. I hope so. I've enjoyed him immensely.

As for my beautiful ISAIAH... It's weird, after all this time, I can't imagine not drawing him in his own comic regularly, and at the same time, I'm so grateful I was able to take him from start to conclusion, by taking my time and making sure that every little detail fell properly into place. He's a character that means so much to me, and I deeply wanted to do him justice. But look, I have to be honest. There's a great deal of relief in reaching the end. LOL! Relief, and sadness. Seems you can't have one without the other.

Of course, ISAIAH'S story continues in the BRIGAYDE series, as this last page hints at, but I'll miss him deeply. I mean, it's certainly not the last time I'll be drawing him, but I'll miss looking forward to his regular pages. He's a gorgeous character and I adore writing and drawing him, but "all good things", as they say...

I've greatly enjoyed sharing this story with all of you, and I want to thank you all for taking the time to read it over the years. I've always greatly appreciated your thoughts on the work, and very much look forward to the future comic projects we'll enjoy together.

And please, share your thoughts with me. Did you enjoy the run, the end, the characters? Why and how? LOL! I love hearing from you so don't be shy -- feel free to comment below.

Anyhoo, that's it for GAY FOR SLAY, but it's not the end of SEPTEMBER just yet, and there are still a few more treasures to come your way, so STAY TOONED!

Aww... damn. I really want Isaiah to get fucked & fisted by the elderly Flores then Isaiah fucks Flores in return. Old men are still hot & sexy. Can you do them in bonus pages or mini-comic, please? πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»

Star Angel

Thank you, thank you, my dear Conor. It was a long, laborious road, but certainly one filled with deep love for Isaiah and the other characters in the story. I couldn't be happier that you've enjoyed the journey and the conclusion. I'm also so pleased you like that this ending looks forward to Isaiah's involvement with the Brigayde. It was really important for me to underline that, I feel -- to show that there are still lots of Isaiah stories to come and to enjoy! TONS of love to you -- and again, thank you so much for the really kind words and wonderful comments! I greatly appreciate it all. XOXOX πŸ™πŸ₯°πŸ˜ŠπŸ€—πŸ˜˜πŸ’–πŸ™

It's hard to believe that, after all these years, the journey is really over. But what a beautiful conclusion to this chapter in Isaiah's life, and I love the call forward to Isaiah's adventures with the Brigayde, it just gives us all the more to look forward to, just like Isaiah himself has learned to. Thank you so much for sharing this gorgeous story with us, Patrick, here's to the next one!

Conor Young

Thanks so much, Jared. It really does feel great being able to share this with all of you as well. It's been quite a long road, and it feels amazing getting to see the end of journey together. As for the Brigayde, I have thought about it. I love all those characters, and I'm toying with an idea... a kind of BRIGAYDE ANNUAL #1, sorta thing! It's really just about having the time to do it. I've been working on the Brigayde as long as I've been working on Gay for Slay, and I deeply love what David's done with it, art-wise... but it does feel funny that I haven't done any illustrating for the series myself, beyond issue #1's variant cover and a few character studies. So yeah -- it's certainly a possibility. Nothing concrete yet, but the want and the idea is there. Much love and thanks to you for the wonderful comment and question! XOXOX 😍πŸ₯°πŸ˜˜πŸ€—❀️

So satisfying to be here at the end of a journey with you. Also sad to see the end of Gay for Slay but excited to see where the character goes next as it's an opportunity for more fun and sexy story telling. I love David's work with The Brigayde, but do you think you'll ever dip your toes into that series and give us an entry in your art style?

Jarrod

HA HA HA -- I'm sure he does!! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹

Patrick Fillion

They need another crossover asap, I’m sure The Collector want those mantits so bad haha

Gandi K.

Thanks so much, Space Cadet. I'm really happy you enjoyed the end, despite the Flores tragedy. But I love that you said what we are all thinking -- that ending the series on a nice large shot of Isaiah getting properly plowed and spread open seems very fitting! BAH HA HA HA! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Thank you again for taking the time to write. It's always a pleasure to read from you! Much love to ya! XOXOX πŸ˜…β€οΈπŸ˜˜πŸ˜Š

Patrick Fillion

A wonderful ending story wise even if tragedy has taken Julio. It was kinda understood that this series worked with some darker themes which made it compelling. On a less serious note I do love that the last shot is him getting spread open lol I had to say it.

Space Cadet

Thanks so much, LukaM... for the wonderful comment and for the insight and questions. I'm glad you enjoyed the ending and that you feel it was fitting. I feel it was too, and I'm very happy that this is how the series wraps up. But I also know it feels like A LOT of Class titles are wrapping up. That coupled with our recent payment processing problems can seem a little scary, almost like it's heralding the end. LOL! I assure you, though, that that is NOT the end. I think it's just that times are changing and so many of our narratives have come to a good place, where a conclusion feels natural and right. But what this does mean is that we have new plans and projects in mind. I've got a lot of stuff I still want to write and draw and I look forward to exploring new stories and new characters, some that I've been holding back for a long time because my plate was already pretty full. I plan to get back to LOVE LOST, shortly, and that's really only just the beginning to what I want to work on. So, I guess you could say that the next step is pretty open right now, but also full of possibility. I like that very much, all things considered. There's a great deal of relief in successfully concluding long-running projects. It's something I've struggled with in the past, but I couldn't be more pleased with the end of GAY FOR SLAY and the BRIGAYDE. I look forward to bringing you all what comes next. Thank you again for the FABULOUS question!!! Much love and appreciation to you! XOXOX πŸ˜πŸ’–πŸ˜ŠπŸ€—

Patrick Fillion

Isaiah is definitely an interesting character, one of the most interesting inventions of yours in the past years and you can see you enjoyed it equally, but it does feel like it's the conclusion of the set -and it's a fitting one. I'm wondering though: with Isaiahs story (at least temporarily) ended, and the Brigayde also kind of ended in some form with volume 11, what is the next step for your comics?

LukaM

You're so sweet, Jen. Thank you again so much for your support here AND on the Class page. It really means a lot to both Fraser and I. Yeah, I love these characters so much, and I can think no greater joy than getting to share them and their adventures with all of you. I honestly can say that I have great plans in mind for Byron. I look forward to exploring all of that and sharing that with everyone as well. Thank you again for all the love and kind words and support, dear Jen. You are AWESOME! Great Big SMOOCHES to you!! XOXOX πŸ₯°πŸ˜˜πŸ˜ŠπŸ€—

Patrick Fillion

Aww I love that. I’m on the class comics patreon as well because I wanted to see what the final book looked like. And totally, all good things have to come to an end. I just hope there is more Naked Justice 2 or Space Cadet plans for the future, maybe even their own books? I love all of the characters, even the villains. Sure they are hot and sexy with all the peril I love. But I also love the overall story. How lucky we all are to get to watch it happen.

Jen

Thanks so much, dear Jen! I love that you enjoyed the GFS story, and that Byron's little cameo made your heartbeat jump a little! HA HA HA! It's a small image of him, but I LOVED drawing it and including him on the page. He is such a HOT character, and always a pleasure to draw. Regarding the BRIGAYDE, issue #11 is the indeed final issue planned for this series. Both David and I feel that we brought the title to a satisfactory and organic conclusion. Fraser and I are currently posting the pages on the Class Comics Patreon page, and once all pages have aired, we'll release the issue as a complete book. But yeah, you know how it goes... comics may end, but in the wild and wonderful world of comic making, no character and no story is ever truly dead... or done... or concluded. I feel these characters all have A TON Of life and narrative left in them. I look forward to exploring all of that for years to come. πŸ˜πŸ’–πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜πŸ’–πŸ˜Š XOXOX Much love to you!!

Patrick Fillion

What an amazing story Patrick! Little noises escaped me when I saw Byron there at the end, what a fabulous specimen he is. Unrelated question (although I have many, but this will do for now), but is The Brigayde really over for the moment? I can’t think of a series I’ve loved more and I hate to think that we won’t have more in the near future.

Jen

Hiya, LlamaLlama. I'm so pleased you enjoyed the cameo. I really liked being able to insert them into the scene. Honestly though, I sorta felt that the response to my MBIAS strips was a little... uhm... lukewarm! πŸ˜…LOL! But while I only did 2 of them, I really enjoyed them a lot, and knowing that people would like to see more of them certainly helps. I'll put on my thinking cap and see if I can't come up with a fun little episode to draw up for you guys very soon. Thanks again for the wonderful comment. Much love to you! XOXOX πŸ˜πŸ’–πŸ˜ŠπŸ€—

Patrick Fillion

What a delight to see a Felix and Byron cameo! I’ve missed seeming them on the Patreon while Patrick was as working on a bevy of wonderful comics that they weren’t in. I hope we get to see more of these two studs together soon! Speaking of which will the MBIAS Beyond the Page series be coming back now that Gay for Slay, Zahn Foolish Pact, and the first X-Men chapter have wrapped up?

LlamaLlama

Thanks, Gandi. πŸ™πŸ₯° I'm so pleased you enjoyed it. And the Collector is ALWAYS a possibility... especially when I get a hankering to throw together characters who wouldn't otherwise get to meet! LOL! So yeah -- ya never know! πŸ˜…πŸ˜ˆπŸ˜‡πŸ˜˜ XOXO

Patrick Fillion

That was a nice ending! I love the last panel, anyways is there any chance for the Collector to return? He must recollect the 'all-new, meat truck' Zahn and Isaiah!
