Got a great little collabo for you today! It started with a simple premise: what if "beholder" but underwater? Enter the Depth Watcher, codename: SEAHOLDER. Brought to life by my wonderful collaborators Paper Forge and ItsADnDMonsterNow, this deep sea aberration has both a gorgeous and creepy mini plus a CR 14 statblock designed by one of D&D's greatest rule mavens. As if deep sea adventuring weren't unsettling enough, now you devilish DMs can suffocate your players automatically while frying them with diverse and devastating eye rays.
My track today is "Eyes in the Fog," a creepy maritime combat track. This thing is perfect for any spooky underwater encounters or ghostly pirate battles. It's more plodding and menacing than overpowering, so it's probably best used for encounters that are dripping with flavor, and not just your standard skirmishes or epic boss fights. I'm extremely happy with how the strings turned out in this one; I was trying to emulate the incredibly aleatoric and dissonant combat music from Bioshock Infinite (something I've tried to do many times before and failed), and I think I really got it this time.
Paper Forge has hundreds of other minis that are printable or VTT ready over at their Patreon. They have so many by now and they're such high quality that you might as well just use them for every dang mini in your adventures. They're just that good! I've collaborate with Paper Forge a ton, so hopefully you know by now that their work is always immaculate. Plus, they just released some great pirate minis for your seafaring adventures. Perfect fodder for the Depth Watcher!
ItsADnDMonsterNow has the broadest and wildest assortment of D&D 5e statblocks. I've used so many of his monsters in my own campaigns, and they're just so clean and innovative. Trust me: if you have a high level campaign, you are definitely going to want whip out his Crab Tank to challenge your players. Grab his perfectly formatted combat-ready monsters at his Patreon today!
For those of you who like "Eyes in the Fog" but want something a little bit less rambunctious, there's an ambient version available at the Artist Tier and up. Thanks y'all, and happy weekend!
