Lively Riverbanks

I tend to romanticize small river towns. I'm not sure why that is... something about The Mississippi and blues music probably. There's something both sad and romantic about a town whose very draw pulls you in and just as quickly pulls you away from it. By nature, your stay in a river town is likely to be temporary.

In my growing library of "tracks that score specific types of towns," here's "Along the Zizira," a piece meant to evoke peaceful riverbanks, sleepy hamlets, and lively hotbeds of idiosyncratic culture. The woodwinds here are certainly pastoral, but there's a pretty wide range of harmonies. I'm really trying to capture the diverse nature of small town life. You can interpret the slightly livelier middle section of the piece as the part of your journey where your little riverboat is actually passing through town. Or don't! It'll be hard to ever time that out just right when scoring a live session anyway. Realistically, this is a pleasant song with lots of those great fantasy plucks and placid melodies, meaning it'll sound great when scoring any non-metropolitan town or village.

I've got a charming and ambient music box version of this track that's ripe for flashbacks and tender moments available at the Artist Tier and up. Thanks y'all!
