The less dense arrangements can often shine a light on cool aspects of a track that get lost in the mix a bit once things get overcrowded. That's definitely the case for "The Old Gods Hunger," whose percussion track alone is so rich and full of cool elements (ring modulated synth impacts, aggressive stomps and claps, weird war drum cross-rhythms), as well as the non-percussion version which highlights the melodic / ambient content.
Unsurprisingly, I think you'll want to use "The Old Gods Hunger (Just Percussion)" for combat that isn't maximally epic. Regular little duels in jungles and temples benefit greatly from some raw percussion.
"The Old Gods Hunger (Sparse)" on the other hand is great for actually exploring the spooky temple, the thick rainforest, or weirdly abandoned jungle town. This is not welcoming music, so make sure you're only playing this when your players are in unfriendly environs.
