Music d20: Vol. 5

Hooray! It's release day! Even though I've done this [checks notes] five times now, releasing one of these albums is always very exciting for me. Thanks specifically to your generosity, I'm able to dedicate hours and hours and hours to making this music and sharing it with the world. To be clear: if I relied on streaming income alone, I simply could not do this. Your support essentially subsidizes my Spotify listeners. So, for that, I thank you!

OKAY, so here's Vol. 5! It's got 23 tracks that I've released between January and yesterday. Listening back, I'm having trouble identifying a clear theme here: I cover a lot of territory on this album, but I think it actually sounds a bit more cohesive than my previous albums which were more immediately noticeably big ol' hodge-podges. I think my favorite track from this batch is "Ancora Bound (Instrumental)," but I have a sneaking suspicion that folks on Spotify are going to prefer "Along the Zizira." I'd love to know what YOUR favorite track is here. Let me know in the comments!

The album art here is by my buddy and collaborator Frederic Tarabout. He's such a talented artist in so many different media: he made environments for Dreamworks for years, and then made a critically acclaimed pixel art indie game. It was such an easy choice to task him with making some cool epic fantasy art for the cover here, and boy, he knocked it out of the park. THANKS FRED!

So that brings Season 5 to a close! With Season 6 upon us, I'd love to know what you're looking for! Lots of changes have happened in the past few months, most notably Foundry integration as well as some... planning I've been doing for a big [TOP SECRET PROJECT]. What do y'all want to see moving forward? More homebrew (a return to Arkus perhaps)? A return to "normal" fantasy music? More collabs? It's hard to gauge what you fine folks are most interested in, so please do tell me!

Again, this album can only exist because you support me. From the bottom of my heart: thank you.

Cheers,

Will

For me, I'm looking for a piece about ancient mysteries. An ambient music for puzzle solving, finding strange artifacts or meeting old unknowable beings. My current campaign is pretty archeological :)

I’m running spooky stuff right now: Curse of Strahd and Icewind Dale for the next couple years, so I’m always on the lookout for those themes.
