This month's winner of the Track Request Poll was Discord user CocoaMix who requested "All Hope is Lost - Battle Theme." He also added these little side requests in the Discord:
-A more sorrowful, but intense battle theme
-the heroes too late to stop the plan, but they'll fight the bbeg anyway
Well, that is something I definitely don't do very often! "Epic" music is really its own genre these days with oodles and oodles of composers trying to be the next Two Steps from Hell or Audiomachine. I wouldn't exactly say that I've avoided making music like that, but it does feel as though most of what can be said in the genre has already been said. It's not something I've often explored in my Music d20 output though (other than "Divinity Unshackled" and "Defending Varsanspear"), so here's another attempt at filling this niche!
"Aldyn's Gone Dark" is that cinematic sound. Big trailer braams, ambiguously exotic vocals, moody piano that builds with spiccato strings and war drums. A big crescendo followed by a short pause followed by a BIGGER climax. It's got the whole thing! For this track, I really tried to grab the hallmarks of this particular sound while still doing it "sincerely." If you put this track on during a climactic emotional fight with half the party downed and the city being destroyed, your players WILL feel epic.
If you want to dial it back just a bit, there's a solo piano arrangement as well as looping versions of both tracks available to my Artist Tier + patrons. Thanks so much!
