Hello folks! Today I bring to you another addition to Venatus Maps's setting of the Great Expanse: the town of Wooster. I love this map, because it's quite unlike many of the topdown battlemaps you're used to. When I DM cities, I never use a true "5-ft square" battlemap, and prefer to just give a sense of place and show my players where things are, what they look like, and their general proportions. This map is PERFECT for that. Hopefully you can use this map for all of your Western outpost towns.
Luckily for you, you don't even have to come up with juicy Western lore by yourself! Wooster comes with a fun 2-page PDF by Venatus Maps and Adventure Awaits! There's so many fun plot hooks in here that you can use to jumpstart your fantasy Wild West campaigns. Be sure to check out the Adventure Awaits Patreon if you want more evocative writing to help you plan your sessions.
And of course, I made some music! "Lawless Wooster" is dusty. It's very much a traditional frontier tune. Outlaw guitars and emotive strings give this a very Red Dead Redemption vibe. While this is obviously ideal for any sort of Americana vibe city, it'll be at home in any run down, ramshackle, out of the way village in your fantasy campaigns. Hell, you could probably score the whole "non-metropolis" portion of an Eberron campaign with this track.
It's so fun to always have Venatus Maps to team up with when I want to make some Western tracks. Add this to "The Great Exapnse," "On the Rail," "Myrilight Clocktower," and "The Silverspring Mine" if you want to have a fully authentic Great Expanse adventure. If you want a slightly more exciting version of this track, there's an intense variant over at the Artist Tier and up.
