Charon, Ferryman of the River Styx | Collaboration with Paper Forge and ItsADnDMonsterNow

If you're anything like me, you've played the absolute hell out of the smash-hit roguelike Hades, a sort of "coming of age" story about the Greek Gods and their complicated family lives. In this (in my opinion perfect) video game, Charon is depicted as he typically is: a silent, neutral, ferryman. Brother to the personifications of sleep and death, he single-mindedly shepherded expired souls to the afterlife (and sells snacks? I don't think that's canonical in Greek mythology). In short: a more lawful neutral deity there has never been.

That's pretty cool, but what if you want to try to kick his ass? I teamed up with my good buddies behind Paper Forge and ItsADnDMonsterNow to whip out this insane trio of minis, statblocks, and music. Your party is going to be absolutely blown away when you unleash this epic miniature, and then extremely disappointed when he smites them all with his oar / macuahuitl.

My track was inspired first and foremost by the music of Bloodborne, a Gothic / Lovecraftian horror action RPG. Big scary strings, spooky music box, and malevolent chanting make for truly disturbing boss music. This is not the track you play when you're fighting a regular old troll. This for otherworldly abominations or beings of pure death and decay.

Paper Forge has elevated the craft of making minis to high art. Whether you print out your minis or need tokens for Roll20 or Foundry, they should be your go to.

Kyle (aka ItsADnDMonsterNow) is a whiz of making 5e statblocks of all your favorite pop culture creatures: enemies from Castlevania, Dark Souls, Destiny, and an insanely overcomplicated statblock for a creature known only as Crabtank. I've personally used at least a dozen of his stat blocks in my own campaigns, and they're often my party's favorite encounters.
