Fight the Witch
Added 2021-02-06 16:16:29 +0000 UTCWitches fight dirty. You're not going to "lay siege" to a hag's lair. You're going to try to outlast their wicked magic and just get blows in when you can. Hags are dark! As such, this combat version of "The Woods Reject You" is maximally discordant. Aleatoric violin pulses, trombone braams, and broken piano gestures give this a track an even greater degree of dissonance than the original.
Of course, the whole "combat" vibe is achieved with tons of forest percussions. Big frames and cowbells and wood clicks squarely place this outside of the realm of "military battle" and more into "dirty forest skirmish." This is a great track for fights against any aberrant foes: mindflayers or other extradimensional entities. Regular-old goblins probably aren't deserving, but something more vicious like gnolls or trolls might be appropriate as well.
