You're Gonna Carry That Weight
Added 2021-03-15 23:27:01 +0000 UTCPresenting players with meaningful choices and then showing them the consequences is one of the most satisfying parts of tabletop gaming for both players and GMs. There's nothing I love more than giving my players a moral quandary and seeing them waffle on what to do. Sure you want to save all the innocent prisoners, but that means 1) fighting the guards, 2) becoming wanted men, and 3) going on the run. Is that worth it?
Sometimes, satisfying play involves making imperfect choices. When your players make a tough decision, "Not Easily Forgotten" is the perfect track to play to emphasize the weight of those actions. Letting a hostage die, turning your back on a friend, or putting the party in unnecessary danger are crucial and memorable moments that absolutely need to be backed up with an appropriate score. The droning strings and contemplative guitar reinforce that mental drain that plagues adventurers after making a tough call. This track can also double as a creepy dungeon ambience, or the backdrop for tense stealth missions.
This track was yet again produced in partnership with patron Adam Baffoni in advance of the release of his forthcoming mystery podcast. Adam is a true TTRPG veteran with a bevy of tabletop ventures. I'm very stoked to listen to his new show, and you should be too!
