Strange Bedfellows

A smarmy bard, an idealistic holy knight, the edgy rogue, the practical barbarian. This hearkens back to the Fellowship of the Ring, of course (the OG D&D party, as far as I'm concerned). In times of great need, once antagonistic forces may put aside old differences and ally with each other for the greater good (see: Watchmen, Pacific Rim, World War II, etc...)
"Viriline" is the story of court mage who reaches out to a dark priestess when all other hope seemed lost. A secret rendezvous blossoms into a powerful alliance, and the song hints that there may also have been much more between the pair. This is a song of intrigue, rebellion, and forbidden love. It features my lovely wife Clare on vocals, and I'm quite pleased with how it turned out! Strange meter changes imply the unease with which the narrator makes her request, and dissonant harmonies evoke the discordant relationship between the unlikely duo.
How would you use this in a campaign? Man, I don't know. It's a song. I think it's a very pretty song. Realistically, though, you probably won't be whipping out a love song with lyrics in your campaigns. If you'd like an instrumental version, you can grab that at the Artist + tiers. Thanks y'all, and happy August!
