Taking shape... pt 2

So I've been slowly fleshing out the characters here. I haven't had a lot of time to draw during the week, but it's actually shaping up pretty well.

For the wolf commander, I created a new layer, and in order to save some time, I skipped my normal "high-detail" sketch and went straight for lineart. It's not perfect - there's a lot of parts to his anatomy that are only kind of sort of okay, which I blame squarely on not doing the sketch first - but with a lot of characters left to do, and a pretty grandiose scene, I'm hoping it won't be something people notice.. maybe I'll go back and redo it before I'm fully satisfied.

Anyway, once he was done, I went for the next character back in the scene, which was a fallen soldier. Same procedure there; new layer, straight to lineart. I also remembered to add a rifle to the commander's back, since this is technically supposed to be a WW1-era war.

Next up is the charging soldier in back of the fallen one. I'm realizing these will get progressively easier as more and more of the soldiers will be blocked by other elements in the scene. Which also speaks to why it might be worth my time to go back and fix up the commander later - he is the most prominent character featured.
