Ancient comic excavated from ruins of lost civilization

So here's something different for a change. This is one of my earliest attempts at making a comic, I belieeeeeve some time around 2006, making it nearly twenty years old.

I dug this out of a long forgotten folder with backups from a photobucket account I used to upload to, of all things. I made three of these comics, but this one is my favorite.

It's pretty cool to look back on something that another me made in another time - a version of me that really isn't very much like the me I am today... and yet be able to spot some of the artistic quirks that still embody my art. Those folded tiger ears in the last panel for example, are still basically how I draw folded back ears... I think I just looked at how the guy did it in Garfield hah!

And y'know... overall, it's not a bad little comic - Sure, the dialogue in the beginning is cringy as all hell (as expected from a teenager trying to sound like he's smarter than he is)... but I love the creepy guy and the reaction to it. Way to go kid-Sabre (who wouldn't go by Sabre for at least another six years!)

How cool! It's always a thrill to see these relics from a younger time. Younger Sabre put a lot of effort into this and cared about it! And you're right about that last panel, too - I can see that in your current style. :) Though... i hope the Jim Davis comparisons end there. :3
