Hmmm... that's an insightful comment. And I do see your point - I agree that it comes across as a shift in character, but my intention is not for Ansel to become mean-spirited or overly dominating/degrading. I wrote the dialogue that way in order to highlight that the relationship has progressed since we last saw them, and it's gone beyond the lovey-dovey courtship phase into something more passionate (And I envision that wolves like to play rough and don't mind a bit of dirty talk while in the throes of passion). At the same time, there IS some power play involved.... I'm not sure I fully want to reveal it yet, but there is a subtle shift in power dynamics that I also need to introduce. So... point taken - I'm going to put some effort into making sure that it's as clear to the reader as possible.

FWIW, Ansel’s last comment seems a touch out of sorts with how you built him up. I know you have a vision for where this goes from here… perhaps consider the welcoming mentor/brother/pack-mate vibe rather than the dominator/degrading theme. The latter gets done a lot.
