Greetings adventurers!

There are masters of craftsmanship and magic, but there are also those that seek to master the craft of their blade. For the most discerning swordsman, they need a most auspicious weapon. One that can rival their fury and abilities in combat. They need a weapon they can trust to do what they need it to in a moment’s notice. They strive for perfect balance and the ability to strike without warning. For that, only the best of bladesmith’s can make something worthy of their hands, and I have one such sword here for you today. You seem the discerning sort after all.

Our patrons get early access to all of these items as well as additional formats that are easily usable in both physical and online play for D&D and Pathfinder 2E. Additionally they get high-res art exports, easy to use text exports, behind the scenes updates, and a lot more.

If that strikes your fancy, consider becoming a Patron

Design notes from Matthew:

We had the idea bouncing around for a little bit of making something for a more high-level swordsperson, but my real problem with designing for that tier is that by that point, your weapon should be iconic enough to scale with you and really feel like part of your character’s identity. It has to be something that feels like it matters even as you push into the uppermost tier of character progression and that can be kind of difficult to build around. You need to find ways to push the relevance as the character continues to move upward.

We finally settled on the idea of making something that would scale directly with your attack damage. This meant that as your character continued to move up, the damage of this would as well. It kind of hits the right balance of being something powerful in that you can hit multiple times on a single action in 5E or 2 actions in PF2E while also continuing to scale with your hit damage if you were to upgrade the weapon or get new swordsmanship abilities as you continue to level.

One of the final ideas I had was scaling the amount of times you can use it on the 5E side by matching it to your proficiency bonus. This meant that I could essentially allow the weapon to grow with the character as they push into the upper levels. It never really stops being relevant. That’s actually a bit more of a difficult thing to design for. When looking to scale items with players, I always recommend looking for watts to tie the item into things that are already progressing rather than making new ones as you go.

I’m excited to be moving into fall in my part of the world and with spooky month just around the corner, I’m so pumped to make a bunch of spooky items to fill October. Hopefully you all will enjoy them as much as we enjoy making them. Thanks so much for your continued support, it means the world to us.

We highly encourage you to join our Discord server where you’ll get access to exclusive channels that have sneak peeks, behind the scenes chatter, and more.
