I can’t believe we’ve finally reached the end of volume one, it has been a long time coming. It’s no small task completing a graphic novel, but there’s so much more work to be done. Now it’s time for me to write in finer detail what is to happen in volume 2. I already have a broad overarching plan for the next two volumes, but it’s the details of each scene that I need to get into. That should take a couple of weeks, but I’ll try to keep fresh content coming for you all. Stuff like, character designs and conceptual artwork for volume 2. There’s so much to look forward to!
Tomorrow I will release Simon Roy’s cover artwork for issue 4. On Monday I’ll update the PDF folder to include issue 5 and the new cover. There’s also the imperium trooper figurines that’ll be available soon enough, they’re just going though the prototyping phase right now. I’ll also update you with news concerning the physical release of Humanity Lost: Volume one, which will be titled REBIRTH. All that being said, it will be a little slower this month than usual, but please don’t go anywhere.
Some notes of process:
For volume 1 I went through a creation process of completing the comic in stages. First I went through the writing phase, then the pencilling phase, then the inking phase, then the colouring and lettering phase. Some phases, like the inking phase, took a whole year to complete. I wont be replicating that process for volume 2, I’m going to try something new. I’m doing this because the other process meant that there wasn’t a complete page for a full two and a half years after first putting pencil to paper. All you have seen on Patreon thus far is the colouring phase. So for my new process, rather than just doing one phase at a time, I’m going to complete a single page in one go, this will mean you will constantly get new artwork and it’ll also be an insight into my new art process. It’ll most likely be interesting for aspiring artists who follow me on here, it’ll be an inside look at how a comic is made, or at least, how I make comics.
I want to say thanks again to you all for continuing to support the work I do, it’s only possible because of your kind patronage.
