The art I have attached currently to issue 6 was just a placeholder till I had something proper to fill its place. Now I’ve just got to do the covers for issues 8 and 9 and then that’s all of the covers for volume 2 completed, that’ll free me up to just focus on the interior pages!

2024-07-10 19:40:23 +0000 UTCIt’s more about the All-Mother playing things safe, free will amongst her children is a risk factor for her and she limits it to a small number of specially selected units to avoid revolt. She also police’s the way that they think and constantly emits a dull psionic influence over them. Every single individual is a vector for corruption and descent, the AM wants to keep that to a minimum. Things are working well the way that they are for her currently, she doesn’t want to rock the boat too much. On her current course, she will succeed. Psionics are extremely limited in other units, like the imperium navigators, it’s almost a hyper-focused semi-autistic use of psionics to predict safe pathways across the multi-verse. Navigators lack free will and merely execute orders given to them, their minuscule autonomy is like a robot going through the motions and reacting to stimuli. But what you’re saying makes total sense and there’s no reason why the All-mother can’t change course later, perhaps if the impending war with the Tandrax ever goes hot. I imagine she has all sorts of doomsday weapons up her sleeves.

If AM didn't restrict the number of powerful psychics as much they could've built dyson swarm factories to use the vast energy of stars to produce armies of Over-Fathers and might have conquered much more territory. Also are there Imperium units that are powerful psychics but have no free will like Over-Fathers do? What are the requirements for a being to be a powerful psychic?
