And as usual, just look a bit outside the big box for a small, mouse-print "download the file directly" link. No need for an account, free or otherwise, nor to save it to your Dropbox. Try "open link in private window" to get the view everyone else sees, where you can just directly download it :)

Afterwards, you can just download straight to your computer and not copy into your dropbox. When you click the link and highlight over the files or folder, the download option should come up.
