Tutorial time! + feedback spots available
Added 2022-08-04 21:23:59 +0000 UTCHey everyone!
The next tutorial is incoming and its a topic that i run into a lot when doing mix downs for you guys. Sample selection and what to look for when choosing kicks and snares etc. They're important decisions when building a track!
They can make or break the sound of a record over all and a lot of the time the kick isn't hitting just right, its lacking low end or the attack isn't hitting right, or the snare isn't the right timbre, or its too reverby or just isn't the right vibe for the song. So many things can go into what makes a good sample choice, and at the end of the day its all about preference and practise (and trial and error!) the more you do it the better you'll get.
So hopefully this video gives you some extra insight and a good starting point for what to choose. It's also a very personal thing and each artist will be different and THATS WHAT MAKES US UNIQUE. our tiny little decisions along the way. Feel like i could rant about that in another post. Who wants to see some written rants here? Feel like theres definitely room for me to be doing that and starting some discussions in the comments!
Also there are a couple of track feedback spots left for this month so come grab them if you want to chat in depth about some tunes!!
Uploading soon! See you all shortly.
