United by Love's Heart - strengths and weaknesses
Added 2025-07-21 20:00:01 +0000 UTCHello everyone!
I came up with a new mechanic for the game and I’m going to implement it, so I wanted to share it with you.
First of all, the bad news is that to use this mechanic, you’ll have to start a new game. I apologize for that.
Now, let’s talk about the mechanic! When you start a new game, you’ll be able to choose from 7 strengths, something Haruna is especially good at. However, to balance the game, if you choose a strength, you’ll also have to choose a weakness, so be careful. Let’s talk about each strength:
Studious: Haruna will earn a slightly higher amount of points when she studies, making it easier to pass exams.
Sociable: This strength is exclusive to my dating sim mechanic with your classmates and will let you earn more points when talking to them, giving gifts, hanging out, or going on dates.
Athletic: You’ll earn more points when exercising. This mechanic isn’t implemented yet but will be in the next update. You’ll be able to go to the campus gym to work out (in the future, there will also be a gym off campus where you’ll earn more exercise points). You’ll also be able to exercise with other girls; the ones who give you the most extra points will be Kokoro and Saori. It will also let you gain maximum Energy points as you keep exercising more and more.
Hardworking: It will let you earn more points at your job and get a higher salary. You’ll also perform better in clubs. Jobs aren’t implemented yet but will be jobs you can have off campus.
Thrifty: Shops will sell you items for less money.
Energetic: You start the game with higher maximum energy. 110 points instead of 100, to be specific.
Skilled Mage: You start with a higher maximum amount of magic charges and will consume less to defeat monsters. This is from chapter 4 onwards, when you unlock the Katsune world.
These are all the strengths! Unfortunately, if you want to choose a strength, you’ll also have to pick a weakness. Here they are:
Lazy: You earn half the study points.
Shy: You earn half the points when talking to classmates, giving gifts, hanging out, and dating them.
Sedentary: You earn half the exercise points.
Slacker: You’ll earn half the points at work and your salary will be lower. Your performance in clubs will also be worse.
Spendthrift: Shops will sell you items at a higher price.
Apathetic: You start the game with 80 energy points instead of 100.
Clumsy Mage: You start with fewer magic charges and need an extra charge to defeat each enemy.
And this is the new mechanic I came up with. As I said, if you choose not to take any strength, you won’t have any weakness either, so I don’t think this mechanic ruins the game in any way. It’s up to each player what advantage and disadvantage they want or if they prefer to start with a character who is neutral in everything.
I hope you like this idea!
Have a great day!
