Happy Independence Day Party Members!

And if you don't live in the States, a very Happy Tuesday to you as well!

I knew I had to do something special for the holiday, something patriotic, but still practical for you guys to use. So what I opted for was something in the style of Final Fantasy Tactics. Specifically, the "preparing for battle" screen where you set up your troops. One of my favorite parts of that game was having a ton of JP and money to spend, and just totally revamping my party members. (Anyone else ever use a white mage who could dance/sing and use a gun??)

In all seriousness, the older I get, the more important this day is to me. When I was younger, the 4th was just about setting off fireworks. When I was an angsty teenager, I didn't understand why people celebrated what country they were born in. After all, they had no say in any of it.

As I've grown older, I understand more and more, how much people sacrificed just for us to be here. Not just those who fought in wars, but those who fought against the elements, starvation, and many other adversities we don't even have to think about these days. No matter where you live in the world, no matter your status, generations of your family fought and struggled to survive, so that the next generation could live a better life. When you really sit back and think of what it took for us to be here now, it's truly a miracle. But it wasn't an accident.

No matter where you are today, give thanks for what you have. Your family, your friends, the food on your plate, the roof over your head, this crazy magical box called the internet...give thanks. Because millions have given their lives, so that we can be here now.
