Today's song was a fun request. It was for a variation on one of my old tunes...this one to be exact. But he wanted it to be more like Alyn's theme from Octopath Traveler.
Now, the Octopath music is all done with live instruments, so I couldn't exactly capture that feel, but instead I just leaned into the 16 bit thing as usual. I think thats what he wanted anyway haha.
Truth be told, I really like requests like this, because I already have the melody and chord progressions, I just have to change up the feeling of an existing tune. It's not without it's challenges, but it was a bit refreshing to write this one, even if I have done a few village tunes recently.
