Patreon Exclusive Preview: HG101 Guide to Beat-em-ups Vol. 1
Added 2020-07-27 18:27:01 +0000 UTCIt's been awhile since we posted a preview of some of the work-in-progress books, so here's one of them - the HG101 Guide to Beat-em-ups Vol. 1. In its current state, it has all of Konami's games covered, a good chunk of Capcom's, and Streets of Rage. The final release will cover Final Fight, Double Dragon, and all of the Kunio/Renegade/River City games, plus whatever else we can squeeze in. Most of these are edited versions from the site, except we're still in the process of completely redoing the Kunio/etc. sections...which is also going to be about one quarter of the book. The cover also isn't done yet, though we've been talking with Rusty on it for quite awhile.
There's no anticipated release date for this since there are a couple of other HG101 book projects in the works: the long awaited Guide to Shin Megami Tensei and Persona (expect a preview for this one soon, too). The Guide to Shoot-em-ups Vol. 2, and an unannounced project that I'm still hoping to complete before the end of the year. (As a hint, it's a follow-up to something we published previously.)
